I have a concentration problem, so its really hard for me to learn a whole song no matter how much i love that song lol. But i learned my scales and modes ages ago, and i've been learning alot of licks lately. So now all i really do is just jam. I really don't like playing by myself, i love playing with others. Music is something that should be shared hehehe.
But yeah if i was able to sit down and do solid practise i would be much better than i am now, but i jsut cant do that. Anyway not trying to blow my own horn but i think i'm not too bad, i'm fairly confindent with my lead breaks and i would rate myself as a pretty good rythym guitarist.

I'm judging by video bootlegs of the Seeger band. I do not think that they are better than the E street band live. In fact, I think the E street are probably one of the top 3 live bands ever.
I'll agree there. Here's my list:
1) SSB
2) The Who
3) tie: ESB/Pearl Jam/Queen
niice.
1- The Who
2- ESB
3- The Rolling Stones
You really just can't beat The Who live, they wrote the book on how a rock band plays live. And dont get me started on Pete
-
I think "Highway 61 Revisited" and "Exile on Main Street" are better. But 3rd place isn't bad.
Interesting,
I would go:
1- Born to Run
2- Blood on the Tracks
3- Who's Next
-
Wicked, didn't see this one.
Hmm ok i'll just rank the ones i only have atm
1- Born to Run
2- Darkness on the Edge of Town
3- Born in the USA
4- Nebraska
5- Devil's & Dust
Nebraska really has much better lyrics than BITUSA, but BITUSA is just so damn catchy!!
Born to Run is quite possibly the greatest rock album of all time.

You know, I was thinking... I would certainly buy a solo album from the E Street band without Bruce. They should do one.
Who would write the music then
Your right though, they are such a tight collective of amazing musicains.
But they have become too big now days, just trim it back to the classic line up of:
Clarence Clemons
Max Weinberg
Garry Talent
Roy Bittan
Danny Federici
Steve Van Zandt

I agree wholeheartedly
Bruce has such a great array of music, from ballads, to solo acoustic numbers, to party rock songs, to gritty blues, to swinging jazz, to happy pop tunes. All with amazing lyrics.
I just can't get enough of them.

one of my favourite albums of all time!
And damn right its trippy.
I don't reakon Clapton uses too much Wah, it was a signature thing for him. He was the first person the bring it into the mainstream. Hendrix started using one because Clapton did
Truely the goldern era of rock imho.

Pretty much anything by Duane Allman would qualify. I think every fan of slide guitar should at least own ABB @ the Fillmore East-one of the best live albums ever and full of stellar slide playing.
Amen to that.
Duane is the best Slide guitarist hands down.
Statesboro Blues just kicks ass!

i saw this video awhile back and decided i wasn't worthy to play jazz.
Stanley Jordan is just unbelieveble!
My guitar teacher introduced me to him awhile back, lent me one of his albums. Absouletly mind blowing!
I'd like to learn some Jazz, but i dont know if i would have the patience.

You dont need a pedal for that tone man.
Besides its not a "classic rock tone" anyway, quite a modern sounding one.
Just plug your guitar into your amp, crank it to get a decent amount of overdrive, thrown in some reverb, then fiddle with your EQ to get that tone. Sounds like alot of high mids and not that much bass at all. Sounds liek he's using the Bridge pickup aswell.
Distortion from your amp always sounds better than from a pedal.
But since you really do want a pedal.
For tube amps you can't beat the Tubescreamers.
Like Santana said, the DS-1 is a trustworthy pedal.
Just go into your nearest guitar shop and try all their overdrive/distortion pedals, and buy the one you think sounds the best
Good luck mate

Lots of good reviews here mate http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...an+Reissue/10/1
I dont have one, but i would sure want to!

I never really thought he was that special, then again i'm baised because i don't like Van Halen lol
-
I'll have to borrow it off my Bro in law.
He is a huge Brian/Beach Boys fan.

Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA
You only just got it?
It's essential!
Hahaha im only slowly building up my Boss collection.
Got:
Born to Run, Darknes on the Edge of Town, Born in the USA, Nebraska, Devils and Dust
You should get The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle next, after that you should probably pick up The Rising
I was gonna get The Wild.. today but they didn't have it.
-
I like it, they have their own sound which is cool.
I think its better than Hot Fuss.
Hot Fuss had some good songs, but it didn't sound like an album should, more like a compilation.
Alot of today's albums dont have that cohesive feel that an album should have, they feel more like a collection of songs. There are of course exceptions. Sam's Town defantly does tie all together very well i think.
Btw off topic, listerning to Born in the USA atm, much more pop, but fucking hell it rules!

The amp? I got it for $900!! No I'm not joking, its true. These babies costs at least $2000 on ebay with a matching 4x12 cab.
It's the ultimate Slash amp!
Holy shit!
Thats a steal!
Bloody awesome find
-
How much did it set you back btw?
-
I beg to differ!
Yeah, Strat is a great guitar, probably just as good as a Les Paul but it is something with the combination
Lester+Marshall. Its just.. Amazing!
I agree, a Les Paul sounds great through Marshall.
Les Paul's can sound muddy through some amps, but through Marshall's they really sound at home.
But for me you just can't beat a Strat through a Marshall, Marshall's really warm up the tone of a Strat, and their tone just cuts through the mix like a knife and you never have a problem being heard hehe.

If it's out in the UK, get Dallas Crane - Factory Girls.
An awesome, awesome album. Aussie rock is majorly kick ass atm.
I will have a look and order it now.
I went on a bit of a spree the other day and ordered...
December Underground - AFI
Eighteen Visions - Eighteen Visions
And Justice For All - Metallica
How's that for variation??
B)
Haha nice!
Variation is great, Once i got a BB King, Slayer, Genesis and You Am I album in the one day, lady at the counter gave me a weird look haha.
December Underground is a great album, a bit of a guilty pleasure for me hehehe.
Speaking of You Am I, another awesome Aussie rock band, been around for quite awhile and they totally rock. I've got their album's Convicts and Hourly Daily. Highly reckonmend!

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice gear mate!!!
Nothing beats the sound from a Gibson played through a old Marshall.Except a good strat through an old Marshall
-
The Killers - Sam's Town
I wasn't impressed at first, but it grows on you. Good album.
Yeah it's not bad, i like their more stripped back sound better on this album than their first album.
If it's out in the UK, get Dallas Crane - Factory Girls.
