  1. The Eagle Has Landed

Most of those are really great films and it's cool that you plan on watching them 'cos they're practically all essentials. As for The Eagle Has Landed, I really recommend you read the novel first if you haven't already, it's miles better than the film is (even though the movie is alright to begin with) but I think one would enjoy it a lot more after having read it.

I havn't read the novel yet but i've just checked Amazon and I could pick it up for like 6 pounds, think I'll order a copy. Thanks for the heads up.

  2. I made a list of about 50 films I want to watch over the next few months, mainly mob and war films. Here's what I got:

  3. I can't remember the setup for when I saw them in 2006, but I think the UK tour they did just appeared not that long before it actually happened. My point is ANNOUNCE THE UK TOUR.

  4. It seems that this video was leaked by the owner directly on YouTube. I got this answer from him:

    hrwmjk.jpg

I wounder if he filmed the whole show and has rediscovered that as well and not just the Mr Browstone video of edited clips. His footage reminds me of Robert Johns footage which has been used in GnR tv documentaries but the full shows have never been released, but this guys footage is deffiantly all new. I would love for any footage of their 1991 leg of the tour/pre-illusion release to get leaked out.

  5. Some people here are right idiots and are far to over protective if anyone dares mention anything slightly negative and Axl/this tour. He isn't even complaining simply saying the intro was a bit off in his opinion. As for the OP I didn't notice the tempo being too quick until I read this thread then I realised it was slightly fast but nothing to worry about/change. The thing I do agree with is that Frank does come in far to late.

  6. Doesn't Bach actually have a decent voice when he's not screaming., he should come out for Don't Cry and the band should play it in full with him and Axl doing harmonys. I saw the band live in 2006 and If I get the opportunity to see them again this year then I'd rather have something like Don't Cry happen rather then Bach screaming My Michelle.

  7. I've slowly been getting into David Bowie the past few months. Some of his stuff I find really rubbish and other stuff I find amazing. It's cool that he changed his style every few years to keep it fresh, so there is at least some stuff of his I love and other stuff I'll probably never like.

  8. With Sorry.. like a lot of the material is drawn from a lot of different situations. The main focus on the boards w/the track seems to be either Slash or "the fans" (and the collective of "the fans" is another thing that doesn't work for me) and is much too restrictive or narrow and limits what I feel I intended.

Thats what Axl said during his online chat last year, so don't over analyse his comments, what he said at the show is genuine.

  9. someone post the full setlist?

and oh I just realized something! Axl took the stage on time two shows in a row?! hell yeah!

also, that's the one thing Slash wanted fixed before a reunion but as soon as I figured that, I realized something else.. I have absolutely no interest in a reunion stopping this tour, that's a weird feeling!!

Why do you need Shash if we have DJ Ashba? Let him play with Fergie and Rhiana

Richard Fortus toured with RIHANNA (spell it right) you bloody idiot.

Not that there is anything wrong with either of them playing with her, but if your going to bash any member of GnR past/present then at least get your facts straights before a bastard like me can correct you.

  10. I don't really see it, yes he's deffiantly put on weight and looks chunky in some photos but deffiantly not to the extent as some people are making it out, I wouldn't call him fat at all. As for his voice from the clips I've heard it sounds the same as 2007 which isn't a bad thing, his voice is sounding good (although I reserve that judgement as the clips from the show so far have been quite poor to really hear how Axl and the band sounds). As for his image I don't care that much, I saw the band in 2006 and if they come to my area on this tour then I'll be going to hear Axl sing now how his hair looks or to give him fashion tips. However in saying that I might as well throw my opinion out there. His hair will probably look a lot better in a years time, it's as if he has been trying to grow it back since loosing the braids and he's only halfway through doing that at the moment. Not diggin the motorcycle cop moustache at all, he looked damn cool in 2006 and the goatee helped with that, he should just grow trimmed beard or kept stubble. And the setlist, I have no right to comment on it as I wasn't at the concert, all I'm saying is songs like Live and Let Die, Out Ta Get Me and It's So Easy need to be gone for good, keep the CD songs in the set but just throw some more Illusion songs in.

  11. Quite difficult for me as I live in the middle of nowhere and have to be up really early for work so wouldn't be worth it. I will just pick it up on my break and then play it in the evening before my next day off on Sunday.

    Ah right.

On a different note for anyone on PC/Xbox 360 the Left 4 Dead 2 demo is now out to the public. It's pretty damn good. Easily worth the full price tag, as some people protested about the sequel coming out so soon after the original.

  12. Not impressed.

I was supposed to have next tuesday off work (10th) which is the day COD:MW2 comes out here in the UK and was looking forward to spending my day off playing it.

HOWEVER we now have a training day which means I have to go in on my day off and work all day instead of enjoying a great game and one of the few I have been looking forward to. BIG FAILZ

Midnight release. Buy it then, couple of hours on it then go to bed before work.

  13. The Stereophonics are a wierd band for me in the sense that i've liked a lot of their singles since Bartender and the Thief but i've never properly got into them.

I really like their new one.

  14. I checked out the official video for Cleaning My Gun. I don't love or hate the song but I thing it'll be a grower on me. Since I'm going to see Mark in concert next year I'll probably end up picking up the album so I can enjoy the concert more if he plays any songs from the new album (which he will), and i'll give my opinon after a few run throughs of "Get Lucky".

  15. Are there any up tempo songs on it? I'll admit I've never given Marks solo stuff much of a chance because from what I've heard it's sounded well boring. Although I do have tickets to see him next year. Despite not given his solo stuff much of a chance I still think of Mark as amazing and when I go to see him even if he just throws in 2 or 3 Dire Straits songs I'll be happy to see him playing them.

  16. Totally lookin forward to the 3 Stooges remake. Anyone check out Jim Carrey's new look?

He looks a lot like Ricky Tomlinson.

I thought the exact same thing. In the photo poster earlier I thought it was Ricky Tomlinson till I read the text.

  17. Slash just seems like part of the background on stage now. The top hat is boring now, wearing glasses at night indoors I just never got by anyone, and he just doesn't move on stage at all when he used to be the most active. Playing was very good though. Nicole from the pussycat dolls singing Paradise City  . However it was very cool seeing VR on stage with Frank (he sounded great), that could be a great band. Duff looks badass as ever, Dave is just Dave and Matt sounded great and suits the longer hair and beard.

kind of difficult to run around stage when there are a shitload of people on it

yeah there's a time and place for everything

I didn't say he had to run around like a mad man, he just doesn't look into here.

  19. As far as my tour is concerned, I have already started to put together ideas for a kickass band & the plan is to perform some new stuff, Snakepit, VR & Guns stuff.

I'm glad he's picking songs from the main four points of his career. Could be a great setlist, as long as out of all the songs he has got to choose from he misses out It's So Easy & Mr.Brownstone because I could live without having to hear Slash play either of them again.
