Ok, I have to say it, I waited for a couple of days but nothing has changed....so...here I go...

I'm seriously worried about the purpose and existence of this whole thread. You've been discussing the "You are beautiful" incident, but nobody....not a single one....not even @dgnr....or @melina i (girl, I know you are new here, but rules are rules)....I can't even say that....nobody said: "Of course that Axl said that to Slash:no:

How dare you? :max: What are we here for? Where is our legacy for future generations?

@Frey you know that it's your responsibility, of course....you should do something with it, you're not a chairman for nothing :max:

Well I'd like to say that I did bring up slash though. Don't worry girl, I'd never forget my slaxl

    That's correct.

He started wearing them because of Erin and she bought them for him.

It makes all sense in the world what Canter says.

    Thank You :)

My veredict is that he's not saying this to Melissa but to the audience.

    Case closed.

I agree. It's either the audience or slash definitely not Melissa haha but when he said to Frank I bet slash was like "that's it fucking time to get Steven back. Frank's out" ?

You're not. Axl's voice is amazing for his age. "Voice of 55-year-old man not as good as it was thirty years ago"??! Seriously?!

That video is just plain vindictive.

Gaagh Duff in the bath! The poor guy has no privacy. The price of fame! (except it's his own wife who took it, not a crazed fan... hmmm.)

Wow he seems in such a good mood at recent shows! Playful, funny, smiley... and really interacting with fans up the front. I am so there at Slane!!!

    Yeah baby!!

I'll race you to the front soon as gates open and fight you for the best spot :bitchfight::rofl-lol:

It's on!!!! But also I'll save you the second best place after I get my first ?

Does Axl know that no matter where he goes in Europe, there will always be somebody from the women's thread ready to chase his ass  :devilshades:

Btw. I hope he has finally received the party invitation :max: @dgnr

I'll be the first one at the slane castle show ???

Well I'm quite petite so I was afraid I would not survive the pogo... but I'm gonna take courage next time!

I agree with you about Duff & Slash choosing not to confront Axl so as not to alienate him (that was what I was aiming at in my previous post). But then, I wonder how they deal with him when they do not agree with his decisions. It must be extremely difficult to work with someone you often need to tiptoe around  For example, I don't think Duff or Slash would have agreed with not letting Steven play his two songs in BA on Nov 4th IF they had had a say in this; however, this did not happen. I wonder if this type of situations happens more often than we know, and what role they play in the decision-making.

Maybe, but would the others "gang up" and approach him? They wouldn't do it back in the day, and I'm not sure how they manage stuff now.:shrugs:

I get the impression Axl can be easy going maybe as a friend, or when socializing, but I don't think he's the same with GNR related issues, especially when "important" decisions are at stake, like the line-up, the set list, guest appearances, etc. What is your basis for thinking that Slash has as much say as Axl? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Well, Izzy did say he is not part of the reunion because they did not want to divide the loot equally, which might mean he would be interested if they did. :shrugs:

Well for one slash always says he and axl are BOTH stubborn af so I don't think slash would let go of things so easily that he wants to do. It has been documented that axl and slash disagreed often during the UYI days but slash would always put up a fight before finally giving in to axl just so that he'd go on stage or do whatever slash needed him to do at the time. Now that he's sober especially I definitely don't think he'd come back to gnr if axl was still calling all the shots. I think slash clearly cares about the legacy of the band and how the outcome of this reunion and he wants/needs to be in control along with axl obviously and make decisions to make sure it's the best it can be. But that's just my humble opinion

A question, having read my way through the Steven interview thread in the main section and how it turned from general disgruntled posts about how close we seemed to a reunion (me included), how Duff and Slash appear to have sold out (I did a little of that as well), to posts for the most part about how Axl runs the show and everybody around him including the band bow to his every whim because A) they are to scared to disagree or b) in it for the money, incidentally I don't agree with the idea that the current tour line up is all on Axl, however I do believe he is a force to be reckoned with and his personality dictates people will often go along with him to get things done.

So my question is putting the current regrouping completely to one side, let's say Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven approach Axl to reunite for a some appetite gigs in July, they ask Axl to be an equal part of it, something quite laid back, for the anniversary. They make it clear they will be pulling something together with or with out Axl, it's something they feel the need to do.

Axl is not insensitive, would he be happy and join in realising that this is the only way he would probably get to play again with the old line up. It might bring everbody some closure, it would be really appreciated by a large portion of fans and it's then done and dusted or would he have no part, instead see it as losing face, could he not get past the 'supposed control issues' or perhaps see no benefit in joining in what so ever. That ship after all sailed along time ago.

Would it really make no sense to do this with the current tour in progress, I personally see no problem as long as it was well marketed as anniversary dates, I think most people would understand. It would probably fly over the heads of most casual ticket buyers who don't follow what the band are doing anyway. Yes the people backing the current tour might have plenty to say, but for the sake of argument let's suppose they see it as a quick way to make cash on top of 'Not in this life time' and run with something like 'We said, Never say Never'.

I'm just musing really, I know there are plenty of flaws in my scenario, I guess what I'm really asking is, would Axl be the type to play ball if it was the others approaching him?

I think axl is pretty easy going when it comes to some things and if he's happy with how things are going with slash and duff I think hes definitely approachable and he'd agree. But then again I dont think axl RUNS the show. Although he's quite determined in what he wants I think slash has about as much say as him and they compromise quite a bit.

    hi,

Girl glad some others agrees w/me, thought I was the only one.:)  I do agree they both need to be bit more affectionate w/each other./.., or at least understand what the other's point or personality  is.  In a perfect world , this would be an all AFD guys tour, but don't think it will .  Also, there's an article people  have mentioned here Angus/Axl working together.  So another GN'R album anytime soon doesn't sound likely either, I pretty bummed , However Axl did mention in the one  interview past year , one of his goals was at least another album under the GNR name, hopefully withe these 3 guys again.  So there's hope for Slaxl:heart:

Mark my words "slaxl will live on" I think by the way everyone's acting that gnr will stay together for a long long time and I believe an album is probable. Even in one of slashs tweet to Perth he was like "well be back" which means they don't plan on disbanding anytime soon. In my opinion even though slash doesn't show it (cause he doesn't show his feelings a lot) he's really HAPPY to be back in gnr cause its HIS band and he finally got it back and his awesome lead singer and I don't think he plans on letting anyone of them go anytime soon x

  8. So there's a new thread?. Wow I missed a lot while taking my break. A bit upset over the no manips cause I always enjoyed them but whatever. After taking a break from mygnrforum I've decided to come back but a lot seems to have changed... I'll definitely always be reading what you have to say even if I don't say anything myself ladies xx

That's true (about Sasha on tour).  There are so many theories about what that relationship is, but to my knowledge in the times that they were "off" there were never stories where she talked about Axl or crazy accusations so I guess that's a good thing.  :shrugs:

Of course, in a few weeks there will be a cringe worthy picture and I'll be the first one to say "what is he thinking!!!"

And I'll be saying that right along with you. Haha as far as Susan and meegan, I don't mind them but they're just so clingy and always with slash and duff, especially meegan. I mean I get that it's hard to resist slash and duff but let the boys be boys and see them on their off days haha

  10.  Unpopular opinion: I wouldn't mind if axl took sasha on tour. She's annoying but I hate seeing pictures of Duff and slash and meegan and susan hanging out all the time and axl being left out. Obviously the ideal situation would be if meegan stays at home (no offence to her, I actually really Iike her) and axl would get to enjoy slash ?

I usually refrain from comments on his personal life, but I'm in a kind of odd mood today and when I saw this, the first thing that popped into my head was that this could be a case of:

But if I call you out of habit
I'm out of love and I gotta have it
Would you give it to me
    If I fit your needs
Like when we both knew we had it

I mean he is a man, he has his needs and due to who he is, it might just be safer than just going out to find some strange...

Well then I if he only needs her to satisfy his needs I'm also happy off. If axls happy, I'm happy whatever the reason ??

I haven't  figured out how to post a picture from Instagram, but it looks like both Beta and Sasha posted pictures of the beach in Malibu yesterday.  Does this mark the return of the freak show.. :vomit:

I think sasha always was and always will be in the picture whether people like her or not. I myself don't really mind her. If axl likes her enough to keep her around for so long she must at least have some part of a brain.

Man, I'm sorry I brought that up. The Dizzy close-ups really brought it home. But look at you guys turning it around!

    Yeah

I also love the entirety of the CBGB's event. Love watching Izzy in it. Love that Slash seems to be throwing some sort of fit thoughout the whole damn thing.  That Steven doesn't know what to do with himself. That you can see Erin sitting morosely and Angela dancing around behind them.  I especially love the end when it was apparent that these were not media trained guys in any way. Evrything felt so raw.

Completely agree. Slash is hilarious in this. My second favourite slash to the Heineken bottle slash haha

  14. I've been signed out and unable to log into the forum for the past two weeks. I almost went crazy from not being able to view this thread honestly. Anyone know why that could be? Also the thread where axl logged on as Dexter he didn't really answer anyone's questions did he? He just got annoyed with people ? anyone have sebastians book? I want to get it but it's too expensive rn but I'm wondering if there's a lot of gnr stories? I know it was being talked about on this thread before xx

  15. HOnestly don't have think it was axl. Axl and baz hung out loads but they mostly did weed together and shit like that, it was slash baz always brags about doing coke and heroin with all the time. I'd say it was a singer from another band tbh. The behaviour does match axls assholeness days but I'm pretty sure everyone always says including our very own Marc canter that axl stopped doing those kind of drugs in 1987 and just stuck to weed and booze sometimes

I tried to see it once also, but didn't really like it...Anyways, now I have to check that one you're talking about ;)

Speaking of TV shows, I always liked 'How I met your Mother' - except the final! Really what the fuck was that? Don't even get me started  - and I think that part of me liking that show so much was due to its slight but spot on references to Guns N' Roses. The Chinese Democracy ones were so, so good :rofl-lol: :rofl-lol:

    Check it out:

I didn't even exist when the AFD 5 were running the world. Don't make me feel bad :P

How I met your mother is my favourite tv shows despite the ending and I've never noticed the amount of gnr refrences. Love this video
