  1. I debated about going last summer, but I caved and went, pretty much knowing Izzy wouldn't be there.  I DID get to see Steven, though, which nearly knocked my socks off.  I would've so kicked myself in the ass had I not gone.  And it was great show overall.

I REFUSE, however, to pay out the ass for a ticket this time around in the states, though, unless I get Stizzy.  I can't believe they're asking the same *outrageous* amount for tix and giving us nothing different.  I mean, I can believe it, bc it's the GNR "machine" these days.  But it still pisses me off.

  2. @dgnr Thanks!  And I do love Steven .... so much.  I mean, I feel like he's a lost soul still, after all these years.  And that makes me sad.  But his drumming style ... SO important to AFD <as we all know>. I can't remember what article I was reading awhile back, but the author <may have been Art Tavana?> said it was his drumming style that ultimately made AFD more "danceable" than the UYIs.  I thought that was such a good description.  That album had more soul...more rhythm...more groove..more *something*.

Sweet sweet stories you shared! I loved to read all of them.

Well, as I said before, I never fell for Izzy back in the day. Just until recently. I know - the ignorance, the blindness, is she deaf ?! - sheer horror. Right. Just don't throw me out of the gang right now, hear me out.

Back in the day when I first saw SCOM video on Sky Channel, I was THRILLED how pretty and attractive they all were. (Except Steven, same here, never was attracted by him). I liked them all but fell for Axl. Yup, gotta be honest to you. The media (print and tv) coverage at the time was solely on Axl and Slash and to be completly honest, I never even knew what Duff and Izzy looked like. After 1993 I totally moved on musically and never really looked back to GnR.

To make a long story short, it was the women's thread. One fine day someone posted this foto in the women's thread (was it one of you?)

    Izzy%252BStradlin%252B14c4lkn.jpg

And I couldn't believe his sense of style and cool, his badass, laid back attitude and beauty. That got me hooked and parallel I got interested musically to the guy who was said to be the heart and bone of the band. I started listening to his music on Spotify, listend to Jujus first time and fell for the music. And then there was this foto of a more recent Izzy (that little necklace there!)

    and this video.

A decently aged man, badass cool guy, still playing great new music, still knows how to move and has no idea how twitter works. Adorable!

It's ok, @Tori72 -- I was a little late to the party, too.   But I'm sorry, no one can deny that Stradlin is the most classically good looking of all the Guns.  I mean, they can, I suppose - but they'd be wrong. Because I mean.....JESUS. :heart:screen-shot-2012-08-27-at-12-40-54-am.pn

So, here's my confession, @Darkenchantress....I wasn't solely an Izzy girl when I first discovered GNR!  EEEEEEEEEK!!!   THE HORROR, I KNOW!!!!!  I remember seeing the video for WTTJ when they first came onto the scene and my little 12 year old brain just f'n lit up.  I couldn't believe how bad...how dangerous...how hot they all were!  (Well, except Steven maybe...I dunno, never crushed on him.  )  I do remember thinking Izzy was different from the rest of the band.  Cooler...more rock n roll and less flare.  Anyway, it dawned on me at some point...maybe when I saw the video for November Rain (haha)...that something was different.  Like, WTF, is this the same band?!?   Clearly, Izzy was the missing link.  So I kinda started to learn more about him....and then I really began to listen to his guitar and how it drove so many of the songs.  And it just kinda snowballed from there.

Jeez, that's kind of a boring story.

    Bah.

    LOL.

And whoever said Paradise City - JANE who for some reason I can't tag -- YES!!  Distinctly remember thinking those rojo pants were the hottest thing evs.

Haha hopefully there will be dozens in the future as long as they're as awesome as you all are! :)

    Quality over quantity.

That's my fault in part. I'm sorry :(

Welcome to the gang, @Cold Jen Time. Hope you'll have a great time in here. Take care if you go outside, it's kinda dangerous at times

Oh I've been there.  It's a scary place.  When I go I wear my armor and am prepared to defend Izzy to the death!   Srsly, I'm an admin on a GNR fan page and have had to go rounds and rounds and rounds with people who won't acknowledge the greatness of the Iz.  So I've got lots of practice. ;)

N' I'm The Supreme Witch here, Nice to meet You

Well hello, Supreme!   Nice to meet you as well.  I confess I've lurked here a few times, and I chat with @Darkenchantress on Twitter, so when Izzy tweeted his shout out, I knew EXACTLY what "subforum" (is that what you call this?) he was talking about.  And I spent the rest of the day explaining that to people.  You guys rock.  For realz :headbang:.
