I admit I've only been checking this thread very sporadically for the last few months, but what the hell is going on? A war with the women's thread? I'm so confused right now.
Yes, kind of. And I thought it was ended but now I'm afraid it's starting again.

And about the other issue, I'm an AFD girl myself. The first time I saw the November Rain video I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I had seen since Duff carried a tray for no reason to the reception desk in Patience.

That's the impression I get too. I'm now really curious to see more pics like this one, if there's any.

This reminds me of the best line of one of my favorite GnR think pieces:
QuoteNeedlessly expensive, fatally overblown, and a clear product of self-destructive tunnel-vision, the video for “November Rain” already seemed laughably dated the first time MTV played it. It was as if Axl was dutifully following a checklist of things you didn’t want to see GNR involved with: opulent weddings, humungous orchestras, heavy-handed symbolism, Stephanie Seymour, and so on. Just five years earlier, GNR presented a much different image in the video for “Welcome To The Jungle,” which for me is the single most powerful thing the band ever did, even more powerful than Appetite as a whole. To this day, Guns N’ Roses as seen in the “Welcome To The Jungle” video is the only rock band to ever truly frighten me. Yes, it helped that I was only 10 at the time, but GNR was unnerving in a way that even the scariest of scary metal bands couldn’t touch. Metal bands were like slasher movies; GNR was like prison rape.
Exactly!

They're fine - I just always say seeing the video for November Rain traumatized me bc I couldnt figure out how it was the same band that made Appetite for Destruction.
Out of likes. Same here.

People, can we just stop now? Please, please, pleeeease?
It took ages for me to find a place were I could find people just like me, who appreciate ALL aspects of Izzy (if you know what I mean). When I found this thread I felt like the bee in that 90's Blind Melon video (I believe some of you remember that). But now I'm afraid this place might be locked because of all the tension. I know it's hard to be misunderstood and not try to clarify things but if we don't decide to just let people think whatever they want abou us and just move on, this will never end. Peace.

So that's the true reason for that super spectacular mega exclusive gig? RS doesn't even mention AFD30.
Honestly, I feel better now.

Thanks @Darkenchantress! From what I've read here so far, I guess I can relate to you very much. I've been in love with this man since 1989! And I love your signature. It says it all.

Oh wait... I'm going to see the 3 Stooges, Lortus, Frank and rock icon Melissa Reese July 1st.
Lol. I couldn't. I just can't see this lineup playing my beloved songs from AFD and Lies (and some from UYI). I would either cry the entire time or attempt to get on stage and kill them.

Same here. I never liked Dizzy, when they got on stage at Rock in Rio '91 with him as a permanent member I was like "wtf?" But I could live with that.

No. No. No. I don't want them just for some songs + aliens. Please don't.

What do we think about the GnR, Xsirus/Stern, Apollo dates. I have to say I'm kind of out on this one, I have an awful feeling this will be the AFD30 acknowledgment. Which probably means no secret LA dates, which would have been cool if they could pull off the hype that surrounded the regrouping. It also looks like its invite or competition tickets only, which really sucks for something that should be Special for all fans. Do you really think all those celeb types give a damn about AFD, why not open up and embrace the people who have kept the music alive and kept faith, when really they have been one of the most exhausting bands to follow.
I know, I know I'm coming across as entitled or that I'm owed something but just this one date, of all dates, they should've get it right and appeal to the masses- Right?
Do we think Izzy and Steven will appear? On one hand this might be why it's being kept quite exclusive, one off special event making it clear this line up won't be the norm, on the other hand I hope Izzy and Steven see that this doesn't seem to be about the majority of fans at all .
Really mixed about this announcement, how does this band always seem to get me so excited coupled with a general underlying feeling of nausea.
Exactly. I just came across the news about this and have the same feelings.
