I agree the setlist could be much shorter. A GNR/Metallica tour would be perfect.

Yeah I mean I’m all for long GNR shows, but if they could maybe play their some of their bigger singles and then swap out other random songs/hits it may be easier on Axl.  Also they could do some killer lineup tours with other bands.  By the looks of it though sounds like they’ll be on a break for a year or two.  My guess is smkc will tour, and do another album.  Especially with Creed going out on tour.  Alter bridge will be done for quite a while I think.  This opens up miles time

I believe you are incorrect with Metallica. I saw them at MetLife this summer. What they did was they broke it up into 2 nights rather than once concert. Each night was 2 hours. They played a total of 32 songs for 4 hours that had a different setlist. They gave Hetfield a break  between the shows. They played Friday and Sunday then gave Hatfield Saturday to recuperate. I think this could be a good approach for GNR to give Axl a break in between the shows when they go back on tour.

Yeah I think prior to these newer types of shows though they weren’t doing as many songs.  I could be wrong.

  3. Here’s what I’d like to see.  Take their time off.  Release some stuff.  Get re-releases of spaghetti/lies on vinyl.  Release shit loads of video footage in some form.  When they reunite do new album or new and old songs if need be.  Then tour.  However, don’t do 28-32 song sets.  There’s no need.  Tour with other bands and play 15-18 songs.  Fluctuate hits.  Interweave songs they don’t play as much from all albums with new songs.    Maybe not close with paradise city and not open with its so easy.  Just switch it up.  Either way not play as long of shows.  I think it will really help Axl’s voice.  Hell Metallica doesn’t even do that many songs.

When CD's were sold out of Zutatut's locker there was allegedly paperwork in there too.

A photo on one appeared online but it is certainly not confirmed to be real by any stretch. If it is fake however then whoever made it did some research. Engel & Engel written in the top left corner there was a high powered legal firm of the time specifically for the music business. Don Engel the head Lawyer who passed away a few years back helped get Don Henley out of his contract. Anyway the point i was trying to make about Quicksong being Dragon seems unlikely if this is real, but hey we thought Monsters was The General so who knows?

If this paperwork is legit and stems from Zoot's time there then it shows Scraped was around at the time as well as "All I Ever Wanted"

Who knows if that is an original song or a cover version, If it's a cover my guess would be the Depeche Mode song.

I always wondered what was on “exhibit A” that wasn’t ever shown

So we now have five songs from cd2:

Hard Skool (Jackie Chan/ Checkmate/ No Love Remains/ Hard School)

    Absurd (Silkworms)

    Perhaps

    The General

Monsters (Leave Me Alone/ Elvis Presley & the Monster of Soul/ Soul Monster)

Hopefully we also get Atlas, Seven and Berlin (Oklahoma) at some point.

I’d be happy with those 3 songs and then all new from there.  Really hope they compile this as an album while they’re off.

Yeah, decent size then. Guess the camera angle wasn’t displaying the arena in all its glory, kind of looked small from Del’s shots.

Yeah the weird part of delta is it’s more deep than anything so it’s hard to tell.  If you’re up high it really sucks IMO.  I watched tickets for a few months and debated the show.  Saw row 7 dead center behind pit go from 4-500 per ticket to 168 per ticket about 10 days ago and bought them on the spot.  Pit tickets dropped by 50%.  A close friend of mine is so pissed because he paid a big chunk of money for his pit tickets on pre-sale.  Night train prices were still more expensive than what prices dropped to. I got some video.  Wish I had recorded prostitute and sod.  Worst song was absurd but I’ve heard it sound worse.  Duff was pretending to do the high pitch screams but kept getting the timing wrong coming back to the mic which was honestly hilarious.  I took some pictures, recorded a few guitar solos, but tried to be as present as possible.  If Melissa had been there I may have been a bit more phone ready because I was hoping we may hear the general if she was.  In a perfect world they would’ve played there was a time, better, and breakdown. But eh.  Still was awesome.

Weird that at the tail end of this massive tour they’re playing these tiny venues. Quite a contrast to the size of this place to Budapest, say. Maybe just filling in the gaps until LA.

This tour feels like it’s gone on forever.

Eh delta center here where the jazz play is about 20k capacity. So it’s not super small.  However not all of the seats were full so maybe that’s why.  As they continue to become more irrelevant as more bands always do year by year they could play here at Maverik center where our B league hockey team plays.  It’s about a 10k venue.  Lots of bands play there.

  8. I need to add something else here.  I don’t know why the overall mix of the show was the way it was.  Every time there was a guitar lead the guitars got cranked.  I had extremely good seats. 7 rows behind the pit and dead center.  The weird volume cranks for guitar leads were a bit annoying.  I will say and I’ve praised him before.  I’m a slash diehard since it’s why I started playing guitar as a 12 year old in 93/94, but Jesus Christ Fortus is so damn good.

  9. I’m seeing guns for the first time ever (im 41 been a fan since 91 when I was 9). Tuesday here in Salt Lake.  Got great seats.  I avoided seeing them the other 2 times they came due to Axl’s voice tone and kind of wanting to remember them for the 91/94 lineup era.  But figured I should see them once at minimum, and with these guys you never know and life is short and they and I’m not getting any younger. Sure would be awesome if they tested the general here.  I doubt it though. Hope to just have a good time.  We know moreless what the set will be already given the tour.

  10. I’ve seen this dude doing ASMR about the general for the last 4-5 months.  He always puts in style of.  Wonder if he’s heard it.  Or is this one of you guys?

always wondered if the general was an entirely different song than we are thinking.  What if Elvis/soul monster is what we’ve known as the general and maybe the real general is something entirely different.  I don’t remember at that party where evader version came/developed from was it ever said “this is called the general before it was played at that party?”

  11. What’s going to be awesome is if the evader version is damn near on the nose the same but with cleaner vocals.

As far as Slice goes.  I look at that from me being a musician as well.  I assume those guys were shown demo versions of the songs.  Slash probably would have done something very similar to Robin in HS or Perhaps.  Not wanting to copy it he did what he felt was best off of feel and didn’t want to mimic.  Had Robin’s parts not been there I would bet it would have been super similar from slash.  Axl obviously did his best to mimic the members he lost.  Down to the styles and amps used.  You watch Fortus rig rundowns, and if you know Izzy’s it’s almost 6’s. If you show an average fan the demos they’d think the solos in HS and Perhaps weren’t.  Also how do we know they weren’t originally Slash solos.  Some of these songs on lockers and probably others may have sat around since the old band.  It’s been brought up by members that they were working on things that old members were a part of.  I think it’s all cool.  I’m a huge slash mark, but I agree the Robin parts carried far more depth.  Slash’s parts aren’t bad.  I just think they would’ve been similar to Robins parts had they not been there.

I still really wonder if the general is a Bside because maybe Slash and Duff didn’t track on it or they don’t really plan on playing it live at all or if so, maybe a couple times.

after that I’d assume digital release and or physical cd release around February 2024 just like last time with HS.  Maybe some other songs or live crap.

  13. My guess with TheG being a B-side is maybe it’s a B-side because it wasn’t touched by Mel and returning members.

Also I’m starting to wonder if that whole atlas album thing is true or partially true even. …..Didn’t the hardskool EP get released in February of 2022 after the band had stopped touring.  Maybe something like that will happen again, but have some extra “b-sides.” Now that would be awesome.  Yeah I know.  Don’t get hopes up.
