  1. The Pantera one is amazing if only because of the footage of Dimebag getting murdered. :( One of the most shocking things I've ever seen.

Footage that should have never been shown....

If I would have known it was going to air, I wouldn't have watched.

Also, the part where Dime's dad, Vinnie and Rita start crying at the end, that brought a fucking tear to my eye.

Vinnie Paul said VH1 wanted to show MORE. But he drew the line.

  2. At the present, I just want more work than I got this summer. But in the long run I want to be a signed, touring musician. I want all of it.

No offense, but man, making it in blues is a HAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRD game man. The band I play in has been goin for 25 years, and still haven't landed a major label deal. Or even a major blues label deal. They've only been on 2 different local indy labels, one of which went bankrupt.

  3. Examples of this "stellar" drumming.

Have you ever listened to The Rolling Stones? Did you enjoy the groove?

I'll admit he keeps time well, which should be a drummers job, but I never heard him do anything that made me go "wow"

  4. The truth is however that when Guns N' Roses broke up in 1996/97 unlike his former bandmates Slash, Duff and Matt....he did not have the balls to move on from the break up and accept what happened and to restart his career. The truth is that he is affraid to step out into the real rock world with a band in his own name, and not with that of what was the greatest band ever. Because he knows that his masterpiece album wouldn't be much without the backing of Guns N' Roses songs and without adding the history of the world's greatest band to his own solo band.

I've always looked at it differently than that:

Why should Axl stop using the Gn'R name because other people chose to depart?

The thing that people forget, is the reason why other people chose to part.

  5. That one is fucking ugly if you want an esp buy this ;)

I want em even if I got a new guitar 3 weeks ago

Is that supposed to be Alexi Laiho's signature? <_< That's fucking stupid, all it is is a Randy Rhoads Jackson with one pickup.

    Tele's = ugly.

Laiho sigs = ugly and shit, I've played one.

Tele's are fucking ugly but Laihos looks so fucking good but I haven't played it but it sounds so good in COB so I think it's just you who can't play it or it's you who just plays like shit ;)

Uh, did it ever occur that it could be his amps or 60000 FX?

  6. Man, Sharon is a dick for suuuurrrre. She calls all the shots and she decides who plays Ozzfest and when Ozz does what. How the hell? If not for Ozz, she would be some chick managin 2-bit bands. Fuck her.

Also, she said (in GuitarWorld) that she actually slept with Randy Rhoads! I don't know how true that is or whatever, but that's crazy.

  7. Is that where the name came from? Really?

The real origin, as told by Billy Gibbons and also recorded in his new book (Rock + Roll Gearhead), is derived from the name of blues master B.B. King. They wanted to call themselves Z.Z. King but sounded too similar to their blues legend hero. They figured that "King" was at the "top" so thus settled on ZZ Top.

i guess it depends on who he's talking to at the time. there's three possible stories, all attributed to Gibbons. i read the rolling paper thing in an old Circus magazine back in the day in an interview. so, maybe it's a combination of all three.

According to Gibbons, the name came from one or more of the following: the two brands of rolling-paper, Zig-Zag and Top, a tribute to blues legend Z.Z. Hill, and/or Gibbons seeing the two words running together on a dilapidated bill board. Hill and Beard had been members of a Dallas band called American Blues.
Billy was also the first to do pinch harmonics. While his sound weak in comparison to someone like dimebag or Zakk Wylde, he still did them first.

i prefer Billy's playing. got more soul. i like Zakk and Dime, but Gibbons style is more to my personal liking.

I didn't mean they sounded weak, I meant less intense. It hink Billy uses really light guage strings so that could be a reason.

  8. I love Randy man. Genius. No one is better than him. It's a shame he died. He only had 2 albums under his belt (if you don't count Quiet Riot). It would've been great to hear more fro him.

Anywho, Ozzy's solo stuff is great. All of it. Can't wait to hear the new album.
