St. Anger was bad but SKOM was a great track that reminds me of days of Hit The Lights. They just need find Lars's nuts and remember why they started making music in the first place. How can we expect a wannabe cowboy who doesn't give his opinion,a chubby queer art collector, and a guy with an identity crisis ,to make a great album in the vein of Ride The Lightning ? They don't have the passion anymore because they have more money then anyone can spend and people still buy their records even though they suck off a homeless wino

whats up ever body i just wanted to tell you guys that you should check these bands out
E Town Concrete
Agents of Man
Strength In Numbers
Sworn Enemy
they are fucking amazing so if your lookin for some music to hold you over intill CD comes out pick up there cd's...you wont be disapointed
E Town is an old band...That sucks...Hardcore is for tools and 13 year olds. No offense !

Just wondering if anyone on here is a fan of Extreme at all? Fuckin' awesome guitaring from Nuno Bettencourt, although the whole sound and production of the band is very 80s... but maybe that's why I like them!!
Anyone who's not heard of them check out the 1990 album Pornographitti, especially the songs Decadence Dance and He Man Woman Hater for some riffage and insane solos...
Extreme was a good band that got a lot of shit because they only got attention for the shitty More Than Words.
-Listen to Rest In Peace and Hole Hearted to make your ears happy. But yes it is very dated

He is also a struggling alcoholic

I'm not denying that they made a huge impact and made lots of money. Led Zeppelin is a great band but a lot of people claim to be fans just to follow the others. I've met countless people who claim to be their biggest fan but then I ask them a question about them and they have no clue what I'm talking about .The best was when I asked someone their favorite album and they replied "Stairway to Heaven"
-
I'm real happy that they did what they did but it isn't like they changed the music industry.
Yes, they kinda did. Zeppelin were precursors to all heavy metal that exists. Without Zeppelin = No Mötley.
I really doubt that. Bands like Motley are influenced by Zeppelin but also by bands like Sweet,Deep Purple etc. AC/DC have provided the best riffs I've heard yet all you hear about is Zeppelin .Who decides this?Doesn't anyone like anything other then The Beatles,Led Zeppelin,The Rolling Stones, and Pink Floyd? Why must all best of lists consist of these bands? Is Satisfaction or Stairway To Heavan everyone's favorite songs? I'm not putting anyone down for liking their music I'm just saying it is ridiculous that we all must consider something "the best" because a few magazine/newspaper writers say we should. I don't think Stairway is anything more then a song worth a handful of listens(Ten Years Gone and The Ocean are far better songs). But I will argue about this till my death .

Who gives a shit what Zeppelin accomplished or created or how original they were? I'm real happy that they did what they did but it isn't like they changed the music industry. Some of you speak like you are reading a Rolling Stone Magazine article.Throw away what the critics, radio, mtv, and the confused public have told you.Clear your mind and listen to music and get your own opinion-it's bliss....Once again Motley Crue all the fucking way.
ps-I love Zeppelin and have almost all their albums, just don't think they are the best.I hope for one day people will make polls or lists that don't have the fucking beatles, zeppelin,or the rolling stones on them.
-
I voted Crue because I am lucky enough to have my OWN opinion and not blindly follow middle aged white music critics and classic rock radio. Zeppelin is a great band but Crue is so much more fun to listen to. I vote Motley
-
HAHAH so its seems the people who voted for the Crue are out hiding..
Zeppelin by fucking miles.
Plant > Neil
Fatty clown who wears too much make-up versus a legend on stage and in studio.
Page > Mars
Page has been known to be sloppy live but then again every one of his solos are masterpieces. Mars is a really cool dude.
JPJ > Nikki Sixx
The quiet guy in Zeppelin. Bassline to Dazed and Confused. Listen.
Nikki: Ya uuh were recording a new album.....i almost died a couple times...snorting 8 balls. This guy is even worse than Sorum in cockiness.
Bonzo > Lee
Only category that was relatively close. But then i though what the fuck!
Moby Dick for god sake.
NO CONTEST
Motley Crue!

omit Metallica and I agree fully.I was told Oasis' Def. Maybe was "the best" so i rented it recently...Saying it blew is an understatement
-
i take it that thats only ment to make sense if your a big roth fan...
Well Yankee Rosa is about a girl and Bump & Grind is another song about sex
-
They make my ears bleed
-
THE BEATLES!
2packs and Nefarious BIG.They are pure unfiltered urine for 13 year olds who wouldn't know music if it smacked them in the face with a waffle iron.
-
I did not know that, however the album did sound a bit soundtracky, I wonder who would of been the Yankee Rose
The same hooa he bumped and grinded with
-
i actually think that mr.roth is considered a living legend.
Yes he is and actually has a DLR army. But no younger people for the most part know who he is .I think he should be considered at a status of say Frank Sinatra
-
David Lee Roths Eat em smile album is on my top ten albums, Yankee Rose, Tobacco Road, Ladies Nite in Buffalo just to name a few, Dave you are a master.
I will play this album tonight on a very loud volumne, the neighbours need to be educated.
I'm listening to Goin' Crazy right now and next will be the lovely Bump & Grind. He is the fucking master.Did you know that Eat 'Em was supposed to be the soundtrack for Roth's movie that never got off the ground? Each song fit into the idea of a scene.
-
David Lee Roth-Just Like Paradise .I love this song and like all DLR songs it brings the listener to a time when life was great . How this guy isn't a considered a living legend is beyond me
-
Its an awesome album, just listen to some of the riffs. Alot of the criticism is because of who the guys are, if this was a new band with new members, everybody would be blowing their trumpet. we would all say they were fantastic, they are anyway
I agree the riffs are great but the lyrics are disposable
-
Mine is lost. I believe it is somewhere in my car. It's not a bad album, but it's not really good either. The songs are generic, and aren't captivating enough. If you think about the musicians who wrote this album, it seems as if no effort was put forth whatsoever.
Honestly that is the truth. It really is a bad album that really highlights the fact that Duff/Slash/Sorum are only good at playing their instruments and songs written by other ,more lyrically talented people.

Today I burned Contra onto my computer and plan to sell the album for a buck or two to a used cd/dvd store. I was just curious if anyone else has abandoned this album. Anyone sell, throw away etc. this album? I realized I never listen to it and I should get a few dollars for it while I can.Discuss...

I just saw Some Kind Of Monster and in it they admit the making of St. Anger was so long andf hard because they had lost their passion. James was drinking,Lars had issues, Kirk felt his opinion didn't matter for the past 15 years,Jason leaving upset everyone, and theywere all sick of James having all the control.Don't post until you do your research
Edit: And keep your allowance... I've seen them live 5 times and they are amazing live.
