  1. Yea, I know these guys are not the most loved group around here, and Jani Lane's brief comeback in 2008

was a complete disappointment, but the other 4 original members still remain and new singer Robert Mason

has a great "rock N' roll" voice! Check it out, these are 2 of the heavier songs on the new album Rockaholic.

Mason has that Mike Reno (Loverboy) and Lou Gramm (Foreigner) thing going.......

    "Cocaine Freight Train"

  2. Wow, <jaw dropping> This has been a bad week for me, first one of my favorite places I go as a Miami Dolphin Fan closes April 15th (world crossing.com), and now my favorite GN'R forum as well. I know I'm not a very well known person here, and my visits are a lot fewer than a lot of you guys, but I have always managed to find the time to visit now and again.

I would like to thank Eric, and High Voltage for all their help over the years, I know there was some pretty dumb questions in those PMs!

I guess the best thing about this place is the people I met here (former and current) and still chat with from time to time, like Alex (Axlander, Almost Famous)........Tim (Jack the Ripper)......Kevin (GNR Rocks3).......just to name a few.

But, yea, didn't see this one coming, plus, I'm grateful for being able to post this (fingers crossed when I click)

Been a fan from the beginning, I'll be a fan 'til the end...Good Luck in the future to all....good-bye :(

  3. Happy Birthday Axl, really nice of everybody to celebrate it for you with a Super Bowl !

Maybe Slash, will wish you a Happy Birthday at the game ?

(heard he was a surprise guest with the Blackeye Peas)

probally not, but you never know.

  4. Can't tell you best, can tell you favorite.

    Paradise City, Coma

    least:

    My World, Silkworms

Are you judging Silkworms from the 2 well known live versions or is there a studio leaked version floating around?

    .

    .

Old GN'R Favorites: The big 3 (November Rain, Estranged, Don't Cry) plus Nightrain, SCOM, Mr Brownstone, and Rocket Queen

New GN'R favs...I love the whole CD album accept Shecklar's Revenge (what the hell is that shit)

Old GN'R disappointments:OH MY GOD!!!!....big yuckmania, also not to fond of My World, and Nice Boys.

  5. How 'bout "Every Rose Has It's Thorn"......yea right, I'm sure he would get right on that! lol

seriously, I would like to hear "Stairway To Heaven '11"

plus The Cars "Drive"........maybe throw in a Bon Scott AC/DC song like "Rock N' Roll Singer"

  6. OK, let me announce this again.........Bon Scott died in 1980

There will NEVER be another song recorded by Bon Scott with AC/DC EVER AGAIN..

How many songs did Bon record with AC/DC? around 65?....I have heard each song with Bon probally over 100 times EACH, when I heard these guys, it was like hearing a NEW AC/DC Bon Scott song!....For AC/DC Bon Scott fans, this is about all you will ever get anymore.......so what I'm trying to say is......."I LIKE IT"! :)

  7. I guess it's a lot like when an impersonator like Dana Carvey does George Bush or when Jim Carrey did Chuck Woolery.

They were showing off, like, hey, look what I can do.....

I look at these guys in the same way, copycats but entertaining none the less.

Those are impersonations and parodies. This is a band that plays the exact same music as a band that hasn't been interesting for three decades.

I take it you don't like AC/DC ...huh?

I would say this band isn't for you then.

  8. I guess it's a lot like when an impersonator like Dana Carvey does George Bush or when Jim Carrey did Chuck Woolery.

  9. Not bad but they wil never get out of the shadow of AC/DC..

They are not the first to mimic Bon Scott era AC/DC

check out a band called Rhinobucket from the late 80's.......sound like Bon Scott era outtakes.................

Come on, even the guy in Rhinobucket don't sound like Bon as much as this kid does.

He's got 'em down pretty good, the Rhinobucket dude (his name eludes me starts with a W I believe) really has

more of his own style that is simular to Bon's, and the same goes for Airbourne, but this guy is actually imitating him.

Don't like Rhinobucket AT ALL, but I like these guys, they seem to have the Powerage sound the best, they should be '78...

  10. Gotta say, Infestation rocks!

You are so right, and what a pleasant surprise for an album like this

to come out at a time when if you want new music you have to record it yourself!

I actually dig Arcade more than Ratt. I have both Arcade CDs, and the 1st is a B/B+, the second, a C by my ears.

You should check out Arcade's third album "A/3 Live and Unreleased"

I got mine on Amazon, it's pretty good.

  11. I really like track 7 "As Good As It Gets"

and the "hidden" track "Don't Let Go" is really good too.

First time I heard that song, it's not on the album I got last week.

  12. Just got my May 2010 Classic rock Mag in the mail yesterday and in the news section there is a blurb which claims Don, George, Jeff and Mick are reuniting next year for a new album and world tour. No attribute for the comment but makes it more credible to see it in print.........I certainly don't expect it to last as Don and George are like oil and water but it will be intesting to see what comes out of it................

Jon Levin is a very good guitar player but the music the band has made with him is mediocre at best IMHO...I loved Reb Beach with Winger...he is a great talent and has a very unique style but again the Dokken material with him was spotty...At least for me George's playing style is tough to duplicate...If they do reunite hopefully George will bring some of the old edge back to the music like his early Lynch Mob material.....................There is a excellent proshot boot video of Dokken playing in Philly from when they opened for Aerosmith in 87 right before the "Back for the Attack" album was released..They play a bunch of stuff off of the new album and George's playing is stellar........it is official release quality and well worth searching out if you don't already have it............

Hey, that's good news if it's true, I will check up on that.

I heard this summer it's Dokken and Cinderella doing shows with Ratt and the Scorpions...I'm not sure where and when but you might want to check into it.

OH and for the Ratt fans, here's a link to hear the entire album Infestation

    http://www.therattpack.com/board_posts/listen-to-infestation-here

I found it available on some of my download sites before the 20th, but the new album comes out

    in the states Tuesday.
