I love this song. Been trying to get it on vinyl for ages.

But bands expect this to happen. They don't release vinyl-exclusive songs thinking "people are gonna be forced to buy the records and it will sell so much more", it's more like "diehards will have this hidden gem for them, it will be a collector's item, it will receive kind of a cult status"

think i saw it on ebay for $500+. Which is whats going to happen to 'general' as well, is my guess, then the reissues etc etc.

A lot of bands have a keyboard - if not live, then certainly in the studio as a pad to fill out the sound. It's often subtle and low in the mix, but it's there more often than you'd think. The idea is to not stick out.

Not sure how much it helps live, though. Her main function live seems to be hitting high harmonies or filling out Axl's voice.

and she does it EXCEPTIONALLY well. No complaints whatsoever, only praise.

I'm pissed ticket prices dropped this much but what can ya do? Buy early as a fan and get screwed when prices are deeply discounted. Or wait it out and then get screwed out of a ticket if they sell out. Totally lame to do this dynamic price bullshit.

Ultimately, ticketmaster is gonna end up with egg on their face for these tactics when majority of people hold off or go to secondhand market. I will never buy from ticketmaster/live nation early again. Ever.

Anyway ... doors at 4:30. Show starts at 6. Anyone know when GNR will hit the stage? 7:30 p.m.? Not sure about Wrigley Field curfew due to annoying neighbors.

I want to get in and try to cop a litho or shirt if the design is really cool. Diehard Cubs fan here and obviously a diehard GNR fan as well.

its been done like that for decades...nothing new about it, but its a risk..you can buy early and get what you want..or take a chance on the day of the show..and see whats avaliable...sometimes the tickets are pure ass...just depends, total roll of the dice.

Re: Axl’s voice. I watched Absurd from Detroit and then some other videos from  the night started auto playing. So my personal setlist went:

Absurd: Good first impression but I doubt he’s ever going to struggle with this one.

Chinese Democracy: Good in the verse and the more demanding chorus and a lot of energy.

Slither: YouTube knows what it’s doing. The verses are solid. The first chorus is par for the course as far as what Axl does with it. Then the flaws start to show during the second chorus and he puts little effort to the the final pre chorus.

WTTJ: This is old man Axl from start to finish but a lot better than when it’s all over the place. There’s no cringe here. He kills a moth during the song. That moth did not know where the fuck it was and paid the price. That’s the jungle for you, man. Not safe for moths.

    SCOM: Good night, YouTube.

Overall, he’s still a great front man when the songs allow him to be.

    yeah, fuck that moth :D

I think its  tough for some people since its such a major part of these songs vocally and give them an impact. I compare it similarly to James Hetfield post 93 and Rob Halford when he couldn't hit near the amount of high notes when he returned to Judas Priest in 2005. He managed to comeback big time in 18/19.

I think its just something people think Axl can get back to if you're judging on 2016 which is somewhat recent history.

oh i get it, believe me.
