  1. were not gonna take it-twsisted sister

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

haha that is a pretty good one! also no rain by blind melon

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Blind Melon ain't no one hit wonders... go take a listen to their self titled album, it fucking rocks. And also it doesn't jelp that the lead singer, a certain Mr Shannon Hoon, died while on tour although they did realise at least 2 studio albums.

And the Skynyrd thing, no chance they were a 1 hit wonder band, people are just ignorant.

Anyways, i'd say MC Hammer - can't touch this.

  2. i meant is there anyway to record drums on it, not anyone

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

yeah, there are a lot of preset tracks on there that you can use, about 150 drum loops so if you dont fancy making your own up you can use them. When i was doing my version of paradise city (for fun) i made the drum intro and the main beat, its really not hard.

Basically if you've got a mac, get garageband you won't regret it.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

  3. Babyshambles and The Kaiser Chiefs.

    I was honestly suprised.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I liked the libertines stuff, but i haven't heard the babyshambles stuff, is it good? I think Katie saw them live.

    R.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I saw them a couple of weeks ago at the Homelands festival here in the UK and i do believe that Pete Doherty was fucked up on drugs then... but the group still performed pretty damn well, managed to smash the stage up a little at the end! ha! :D

It's pretty similar music to the Libertines anyways, i wouldn't expect much different to be honest, if you like the Libertines odds are you'll like Babyshambles.

  4. anyone know of a similiar program for windows, and what is that adapter called?

and what do you mean you recorded the vocals through the speakers?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Here is the link to the adapter i use - Monster cable adapter

I don't know of a windows equivilant (sp?) sorry!

And i recorded through the speakers by changing the audio line-in option to the speakers, basically as i don't have a microphone, i used the speakers as a microphone. I don't know if you can do that on PC's , becaus like i say i'm using an Apple G4 Powerbook (an Apple laptop basically). i hope this helps. The adapter is the best thing i've bought for a long time, as i can play along with my mp3's etc and see the tab on sites all at the same time, aswell as changing the style of amps on garageband!

  5. Dude, i have the marshall MG100HDFX, which is basically the head unit version of the MG100DFX. Check out marshall's website for the specs. It's an awesome amp, i've had it for about 1 year, it hasn't been gigged only used for home use and a few band practices, but since my band split about 7 months ago i haven't used it as it's just too big for bedroom use. Plus i'm off to uni soon so i have no use for it. I sold the cabinet that went with on ebay a while ago. If you want to make me an offer on it PM me. I'd be looking for about £120 for it as it is in great condition, besides 2 scuffs on the outside. Comes with a footswitch aswell. It'd be the perfect half-cab for gigging etc.

EDIT: oh and i'm in the UK aswell. We could always do it through ebay if you want to make sure everything is secure etc.

And this goes for anyone who is interested.

  6. I used Apple'' garageband, and all you need to record your guitar is a special adapter that costs like £10 and it enables you connect it to a normal guitar wire and hey presto!

I recorded the vocals through the speakers, hence why it doesn't sound too clear.

Thanks for all the comments people! I didn't think my singing was too good tbh, i'd love to take lessons but i just don't have the time to. Maybe we should set up a thread that has singing tips, i know there's 2 at the moment that are asking for techniques, perhaps make a thread especially for it though? i think loads of people would appreciate it.

What Guns N' Roses song shall i try and do next? ie what one would suit my voice, it's quite deep btw.

  7. Well 10/10 for producing and mixing. I thought it was great, you must have a home studio or something. Your voice is good as well, its not great, but its good! Good stuff budy, thanks for takin the time to record it for us!

Haha! I wish i had a studio!... it's just an awesome program that comes free with an Apple Mac computer, called "garageband"... if you've got a mac definetely download it!

Thanks for the comment! I was basically just interested in what my singing sounded like, as i only ever sing in the shower, lol :D

  8. I was bored and i've never tried singing & recording myself before! Here's what it sounds like ;) i played the rythmn n lead, but also put a basic rythmn track on aswell just for timing etc. I did manage to sing a few wrong lyrics, and the solo was a first take... excuses, excuses! and the outro solo was all improvised too! oooh get me :D haha! Plus, i dont sing usually i was just bored!

    anyways, the song: Patience

please be gentle with the criticism!

  9. I've been looking for the tab for Slash's version of Only Women Bleed that he usually played before KOHD, but especially the Tokyo '92 version (the UYI DVDs)... but the whole thing not just the basic only women bleed bit, the bit where he starts playing the doubleneck 12 string. And i found it today! Yay! :D

So just thought i'd share it with you people cos you want it, hell, you might not even care. But i'd thought i'd post anyways! Enjoy!

Only Woman Bleed - guitar tab

  10. Dude ... I'm a Cure fan already ... Last night I had a Disintegration sig :drevil: . I wanna buy Kiss Me because of Just Like Heaven and Catch, but is the rest of the album good?

thats cool, lol i didn't notice the sig! :drevil: durh!

i'd say go ahead and by the album if your a fan already, odds are your gunna like/love it!

  11. By the cure right? I quite like the cure, i have a few downloaded songs from their albums, but i'd recommend their greatest hits cd is a good place to start, i have it and its pretty cool imo.

  12. Les Paul - heavy, solid, awsome. it doesnt need a tremlow arm. its the fullest sound youll get, and the sustain is awsome

'i mean listen to that' -

    -'i cant hear anything'

'no but you would, if it were playing.'

lmao  one of the best moments in spinal tap!

and i'd personally go for the les paul, more beef than the strat and its definetley a warmer tone

  13. The second song is pretty nice too. Have you heard any of the songs of Black Label Society's kinda acoustic album - Hangover Music volume 4 ? Black Label Society= Zakk Wylde.... awesome band!

I think you could include a really warm Wah drenched solo, like Zakk Wlde does in the album mentioned above. Just my opinion :P !

...try these songs out and you see what i mean...

    Black Label Society -

    - Queen of Sorrow

    - She Deserves a free ride

    - House of Doom

    hope that helps!
