In terms of his using the GnR name/mentioning he was in GnR...is this really still an issue? It's customary for performers to note the performance/group from which they're most known.

This. Ron was in GNR longer than Adler or Sorum, about as long as Izzy, and almost as long as Slash. I don't see a problem with him using he name anymore than Slash, Izzy, Adler, Duff, or anyone else using it.
