Ah I had to go with Show No Mercy Kirrsirge, they were more raw and agressive-not that im saying reing in blood isnt anything less of that but show no mercy was just-...i dunno i like it better

  3. Yeah I wish, but that would kick ass, screw the Pink Floyrd reunion when you have SPINAL TAP!!!!!

haha j/k guys i love Pink Floyd, just the thought of Spinal Tap at LIVE 8 would be hilarious

  4. Despite erroneous media reports to the contrary, MÖTLEY CRÜE has officially joined the star-studded line-up of artists that will perform as part of the "Live 8: The Long Walk To Justice" concerts on July 2, at the Toronto portion of the worldwide music event at Park Place in Barrie, Ontario.

Fresh off their sold-out, acclaimed tour of Europe, the band will preview portions of their upcoming "Carnival of Sins" North American tour, which gets underway July 26 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, CA. They will join an international roster that includes some of the biggest artists in music to support the campaign created to pressure world leaders at the upcoming G8 Conference to "Make Poverty History."

And while Live 8 promoter Harvey Goldsmith told the press about the London show, "There are artists whom I'd loved to have been on, like MÖTLEY CRÜE, who came too late," the reality is the band weren't even scheduled to be in the U.K. at the time. Instead, they will be in Canada, where they'll participate in the Toronto segment of the global concert.

CRÜE's Nikki Sixx said, "We are honored to be invited to perform at Live 8 in Toronto. MÖTLEY CRÜE is excited to participate in Bob Geldof's global effort to end poverty around the world." Added the band's Mick Mars: "We are proud to make history as a small part of this momentous event."

MÖTLEY CRÜE will join forces with an incredible line-up of artists, including BRYAN ADAMS, BARENAKED LADIES, DEEP PURPLE, BRUCE COCKBURN, SIMPLE PLAN, THE TRAGICALLY HIP and GORDON LIGHTFOOT for the Canadian arm of Live 8. This once-in-a-lifetime array of artists will also be beamed via satellite feeds from the Live 8 concerts in London, Paris, Rome, Toronto, Berlin and Philadelphia. The international roster of artists includes PINK FLOYD, U2, SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY, DESTINY'S CHILD, STEVIE WONDER, MADONNA, REM, STING, ANDREA BOCELLI, JAY-Z, GREEN DAY, LAURYN HILL, ROXY MUSIC and more. 5. Time for me to go off again.

Fight Fire With Fire-What a great intro, its unique. The whole song itself echoes a style from Kill 'Em All with a bit of new influence mainly from Kirk's Guitar style. Notice the difference between his style and that of Dave's which is primarly in Kill Em' All. So in all-a leftover from Kill 'Em All, with some improved musicship. Heavy thrash riff. Great opener.

Ride the Lightning-The title track itself is worthy of the album's name. In Ride the Lightning is where we first see what a true form Metallica riff is like, it still echoes some Thrash but the intro being high pitched, with the tempo of a thrash riff slowed down a bit. Again Kirk styled solo-Fast-then with feeling before going fast again and then again with feeling, listen to the song around 3:26 to get the feeling.

For Whom the Bell Tolls-Cliff's Bass intro confused me for a guitar, what a man he was. Unique approach to the song with a slower style, much slower but still good. The lyrics are based off a Ernest Hemingway book, it talks about life in a war. The lyrics are rhymed better then other usual Metallica songs. The end solo harks such a Slayer kinda sound if you notice.

Fade to Black-RTL Crowning Jewel, great solo into with harmonic acoustics. This song has been acredited to saving people's lives. They felt before they commited suicide, they wanted to here this song one last time, infact after listening to the song, they felt they'd give life a second chance. The song progresses to an epic climax, listen to the lyrics here-they are poweerful.

Trapped Under Ice-This is the most underrated song on the album. Great lyrics and a med good beat tempo. Somewhat like another "Ride the Lightning". Infact it may be a little faster. Great song

Escape-What the hell Metallica? Out of all the songs, I really don't liek this song, repetitive. IMO very very very bland and flat.

Creeping Death-Wow, this is such a great love song. It's fast , it's heavy. They make you want to chant "DIE, DIE!' in the chorus, great solo work by Kirk. Great song.

Call of Ktulu-Second best intrumental (next to Orion on MOP, IMO) I can't describe it in words, which maybe the best way to describe this song, because it's instrumental.

All this was written by me, I hope you all enjoyed my rant.

  6. As I am all sure, we have heard our share of guitar solos, but to you, what is the greatest?

Definitely-Free Bird comes to mind as well as Estranged and Stairway

And especially Eddie's "ERUPTION" comes in close, I love that solo but not my greatest.

but no my friends-it would have to be the ending solo on Metallica's JUMP IN THE FIRE on Kill 'Em All

for anyone who has the record, just dig that solo, it is fast as a mother fuck and gets so damn loud, kirk re-did Dave's solo well

But what to you is the greatest guitar solo?

  7. Oh hell yeah krissirge, did you get Enemy of God yet, the title track is like Angel of Death reborn, with a hint of master of puppets in the middle of the song

the first four are the only thrash metal goodies on the album, the rest is gotenburg styled medolic metal which is unforunate, but anywho, Violent Revolution is also great.

I suggest you get Coma, highly highly siggested man.
