axl is a busy guy...first he had his book report on catcher in the rye, and now a thesis statement? Jeeze. he's gonna get blisters like bumblefoot had...

nights like this are what is so fun and unique about being a guns n roses fan. there can be years of silence and wondering, or the heart of the band can just show up one day and answer everything from why the old band broke up to what's the best steak restaurant in la...just amazing.

pretty cool. axl is a cool guy to join in like that, especially when things can get as critical as they get. I hope he pops in more often.

Eulogy of a broken heart is supposed to be the "big deal" I guess. There was also somebody who swore about a song called "Killer at the Funeral" too...but I have no idea if that's bullshit or not.

...maybe he really does hate that time period, because LALD and KOHD are both cover songs, and NR and YCBM were both written in the same sessions as Appetite, so truthfully, he plays NOTHING from that time period.

Then again, maybe he's trying to mix the first songs the original GNR wrote and recorded, with the first songs the new GNR wrote and recorded....kind of an introduction.

so? Merck doesn't have to run a record label. Maybe he is leaving the Sanctuary group, and is just going to be the manager of Guns & Roses. You don't need to be one to be the other, and Guns & Roses aren't even on Sanctuary. This has all been blown insanely out of proportion (and we don't even know if it's true).

I know a lot of people on here have said how awesome Bumblefoot is to answer fan requests and everything, and we all know that. But to me, I think he took it a whole nother level when he helped me out. I wrote him a letter, asking what kind of guitar he'd recommend, and check out how amazingly helpful he was:

LOL! Was gonna recommend a nursery rhyme guitar, but... hmmm... a company that has decent mid-priced stuff, a variety for different styles, maybe Ibanez? There's no right or wrong answer. Whatever guitar feels good to play and sounds good is the right guitar for you (My main guitar I used for 13 years cost $180...)

I will definately look into the Ibanez type. I just want something good...because I already paid $150 for a FIRST ACT piece of shit, that wouldn't even tune. I should go down to the little guitar emporium and try some out though, you're right about that. I hope they don't have a "no stairway" sign though. Stairway should not be denied.

Now, for the sap: I think it's really cool of you to answer not only fanmail, but even stupid requests like mine. I'm sorry to have written you, but I just really love and respect the riffs and music you create, and I knew that if you could recommend something, it would be great quality. And because of you being so in touch with your fans, you are the absolute coolest musician in the world (yeah, even more than fortus...because you answer your mail more often)

Checked sweetwater.com to see prices, checked your profile to see music ya dig - I think an Epiphone Les Paul might be an even better match for ya - priced from around $150 - $400... maybe check those out? (and don't forget to stretch the strings a little after putting new ones on, it'll help the guitar stay in tune better...)

...yeah. a big rock star guitarist took time out just to help me out. I know it's not really "news" news, but people just don't get cooler than this guy, seriously.

I miss the crazy speculation. I miss the "rumors" from "people who have heard them" that the "unfinished tracks are so EPIC and EARTHSHATTERING!!" I know, every band says this, but I actually believed it this time around. And the leaks are fine, but with all this hype, they fall short. If CD comes it, it comes out, but I'm exhausted from caring about it.

sebastian bach should join the band and just sing backup. they could get him a lawnchair and a footbath and he'd have a great time.

I heard Welcome to the Jungle on The Simpsons when Marge's neighbor put the wrong side of her tape in the stereo, and it played Sunshine and Lollipops, and then she flipped the tape over, and played Welcome to the Jungle.

For years, I looked for Sunshine and Lollipops by Guns N Roses, and no, they did not do that song.

whats with all these crappy bands touring with gnr like a7x, bfmv,etc? What a far cry from the UYI tour when we had Faith no more, soundgarden, Metallica,etc....

I wish more established bands weren't scared to tour with Guns, for fear of a cancellation or something bad happening. Sadly, these are the bands that just say "WOW! PEOPLE WILL KNOW WHO WE ARE ONCE WE PLAY WITH GUNS N ROSES!" and sign up.

so yeah, he'll get a ton of shit for Not playing just like Slash did,

but at least he can say he contributed something to the 2006 version of the song.

These "new" old leaks are how the songs would sound if buckethead had never joined the band, and if they had not recruited Bumblefoot to take his place. They are much more straight forward, and don't have any shredding in them.

Personally, I think they sound more like older GNR, because of the lack of shredding, but at the same time, more boring than the original leaks.

that way, everybody could line up on the side of the streets like they did with oj, and cheer him on, and say they saw him sing.
