  1. well...if it's real, he's nice. if it's not real, his fans are nice.

so some portion of the people who like him, or are him, are nice.

that makes him at least 50% nice.

plus, he helped that kid on tv.

    that's nice.

    we're up to 66.6% nice.

more up to date averages, as it develops.

  2. awesome.

now, if he could only sing high pitched now like he did back then..

    ah well.

Axl has not lost any vocal range. In the 2002 Madison Square Garden dvd, he could sing as high as he wanted to. Today, there seems to be more gravel added back in, hence the complete vocal package we all love to hear from him. Don't doubt his capabilities. He may surprise you.

I would very much like him to surprise me. I think it would be even better than hearing it for the first time, if he came out tomorrow, and ripped through jungle like it was 1986. and i'll be the first one to give him one of those suebee honey bears and some nice lemon tea to help that voice along. git r dun axl.

  3. as per all these rumors...I imagine that any return by any former bandmembers will occur on tour, and in the way of a "special guest appearance"

you haven't heard any "izzy is SOOOOO back in the band now!" talk, have you?

maybe slash will come out, and play Estranged or something. big fucking deal.

then the rest of the band will go right on ahead and play the other 15 songs, and promote their new album

  4. anything beats Linkin Park's Sweet Child O' Mine abomination.

It's not awful, but still, Hoobastank sucks always because of that Reason song. They will burn in hell forever for it, and all the Gnr covers in the world can't help them now.

  5. To my understanding, the only night they played There was a time was the twelfth. why didnt they play it more? that song is so good and so powerful, its epic.

Someone explain to me why they dropped such a great song?

To be honest with you AND MYSELF. On the Friday the 12th show when TWAT was played, I do not think they worked it out well. It did not sound right at all. There was little to no response.

that's probably why it was dropped, then. If they were shooting for some sort of release on DVD or otherwise, they want the best crowd reaction possible, and that of course will be with the songs everybody has been singing along to for the past 19 years.

  6. Wow, so i just got back from the show and I am in my hotel room posting. The show was unbelieveable, first Izzy comes out on think about you, then patience, then nightrain, along with kid rock!!!

But anyways, after the show was over, all the members/staff/friends were out on the stage for a thankyou and robin went down on his stomach to shake the fans hands. So I put out my hand and he handed me the heienkin he was drinking!!!! It was so awesome!

So i drank it and i now have the coolest piece of memorobilia for my trip to NYC!

Congratulations, you just shared a beer with a guy who sucked Marilyn Manson's dick. :rofl-lol:

The jokes on you buddy....Marilyn Manson actually sucked Robins dick.

Congratulations, you just shared a beer with a guy who sucked Marilyn Manson's dick. :rofl-lol:

It was the other way 'round ;) Although supposedly Finck did once make out with Dave Nevarro...

I think that it was Twiggy Ramirez and Dave Navarro, not Finck.

    Anyways, Finck is married...

I dunno, this chick DJ on the radio here was talking about it the other day. She said that Dave Nevarro (who is publicly bi) had stated that he'd "made out" with NIN's guitarist in the past, and the first name that popped into my head was Finck.

No its Twiggy. Twiggy is a guitarist in NIN now.

no he's not. he's in A Perfect Circle.

  7. Well, reviews like this are not bad but ceptical..."now its up to our gun men to prove us otherwise"... that's the message i've got out of it.

For me... better to have a review then no review at all.

In my opinion, Axl doesn't have all of this pressure on him just because he decided to keep the GNR name, he has trouble with most of the media and fans because of the failed 2002 tour, due to the late CD release and specialy the canceled gigs. But our Cat Stevens of Rock'n Roll finally left the mountain (full of faith) and acompaned by damn good musicians!

My friends...after the album hits the stores all media reviews will certainly be different (for better ofc). :shades:

no! don't compare him to Cat Stevens! Cat Stevens went on to become a terrorist or something. that's the last thing we need is the headline:

"pinkfaced braided terrorst attacks new york"

just call him axl rose, oh yeah. and yeah, the band's good to.

  8. It's such a shame that Axl had to use the Slash returning rumors to help promote these shows.

I thought Axl was done riding the coat tails of the former members.

the man knows how to promote. he's not riding his coat tails, he's using him for the fame his name has. that's really more nasty than pathetic, which...I guess is...better?

anyway, bravo to MTV, for slamming a band who's ass they will literally be kissing and calling ice cream in a few months, when they want somebody to close out their video awards

It will all catch up to bite him in the ass in due time. Trust me.

well of course it will. It will really piss off the older fans who respected him, and still hold out for something old.

However, I think that Axl is treating these concerts like a wal-mart. He's advertising a special, and once he's got you in, he knows you'll check something else out, and hopefully like it.

god, that's a horrible analogy....but still. That's his way of drawing in old fans, and even when they go home bitching, they'll still tell their friends, and their friends just might go see for themselves, and they'll tell two friends, and they'll tell two friends, and they'll tell two friends and....yeah.

kind of strange that the biggest band of the 80's and early 90's is promoting with networking....but I guess it makes sense. Just check out how the press handles them. No wonder they don't want to go through them.

  10. it's not like he was standing right in front of it the entire show, reading the lyrics off in a monotone, occasonally swaying or swinging his arms, and putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable.

I think a better idea would be to put little messages for axl on there. like:

    "you're doing a great job"

    "Nets 42 - Heat 47"

    you're in NEW YORK"

    "his name is Ron THAL"

stuff like that might help him out more than 20 year old lyrics he should be able to recite in his sleep.

  11. to me, it doesn't seem like they personally took away the songs that require the most vocal ability to rest his voice. Judging by reports that there was a DVD being filmed, there being no real band introduction the second night, and everyone wearing the same outfits kind of backs that report up, then doesn't it strike anybody as this is being shot as one DVD of the ENTIRE 4 nights?

If so, then Axl would sing the songs he would like on the disc. In all likelyhood, he probably got off stage, and checked the tapes of the preformances, to see if he liked what he saw. If he feels he really nailed one, then he probably won't play it again. If he would like to give another song a go, then he'll try it again.

Of course, this doesn't apply to the 'regulars' (like jungle, paradise city, sweet child, it's so easy, and so on) but everybody here should expect differences on certain songs. it's a warm up gig, after all, and it's being used for what it's for: for axl's voice to get in shape.

  12. if the release date of the cd is annouced at any of the shows, i could care less about any leaks, bootlegs, pirated recordings, or cellphone recorded audio clips. but if we're going to go into year 15 of this shit, then I hope every little smoker's cough throat clearing is caught in 5.1 dolby surround.

    furthermore,

thank you darknemus. you have been the closest thing to a guns n roses reporter anybody has ever had over the years. you're a true fan, and I thank you for all personal sacrifice, of updating everybody by live blogging, instead of getting hammered on jager like everybody else will.
