  1. I'm going for 6 out of 10. It's a decent song, nothing special though and clearly a little experimental which is cool. It's as good as many CD songs but not a stand out. If it was on an album, it would be one of those songs you listen to occasionally like Shacklers or Scraped.

The casual GNR fan will probably horrified that it isn't a UYI style classic. Oh well. Plenty of forgettable songs on those albums!!! #shotgunblues

Absurd is the best of the 4 live though

Probably right although that is because Axl can sing 'Absurd' repeatedly without much difficulty. I still hate the song. Worse than Riad for me. I just don't get it at all.

Hard Skool is decent but was crap live in Budapest this year, really underwhelming. Haven't seen perhaps live.

TG could be better love than on the single although it depends on Axl being able to deliver which unfortunately is less likely these days.

The pixelated image used on the vinyl is not only embarrassing but it’s disgraceful. What the fuck was wrong with the quality of it a month ago that it got delayed only to be delivered like this anyway? Why do they consistently fuck everything up. The song isn’t even “new” anymore to me. They took all the goddamn excitement out of it with this FOR NO REASON delay.

The pixelated image is fucking disgusting. Clearly isn't meant to be like that.

GNR management fucking amateur hour once again. Stupid fucking Team Brazil. Unprofessional idiots with no idea what they are doing. Embarrassing for one of the biggest legacy rock bands in the world.

The more I see this “General” clip from the Hollywood Bowl, the more convinced I am that they wanna utilize some of the footage for a video for the song. Slash, who at first I thought was just rocking out, uses a whole lot of exaggerated movements in it.

I thought that at the time. Quite possible that we see some clips in a video maybe.

Especially as I don't think Slash was as animated in Mexico.....

For all the reasons that they bring it down, the layers, the crazy ideas, the endless cast of characters involved ALSO make this the last of the truly mad, excessive, ambitious and diversively realised rock and roll albums...never will that kinda money and that kinda gestation be spent on a RnR record again...

For that, it's a bookend to an era...it means a lot of things and one thing it won't be remembered for being is...boring. that's for sure.

I was listening and thinking what song is next .. oh yeah, Madagascar. Fucking brilliant.  I never liked Riad. If the World is ok but a bit weird.

Scraped has always been interesting, I like it but can understand if others don't.

Really hope that we get all the Chinese leftovers eventually! Given how different the tracks are, it must have been a nightmare deciding on the order and what eventually made the final album. Clearly there are a lot of other tracks that are all different which didn't make it. Where would The General have gone on that album?

  6. Listened to the album in full today, it really is a great record. Only 1 or 2 weak songs in my view. If the world and Riad. Utter shite Riad. If the world is ok but very average.

The guitar work is incredibly good. Axl's vocal is amazing and every song is unique. It feels like a project as opposed to a collection of songs that flow in anyway.

Sorry is better than I remembered. IRS is a beast. Even Shaklers was enjoyable. So many layers, great riffs, outrageous vocals etc. What's not to like. Feel sorry for old school fans and others that don't give it a chance.

It is obviously different to UYI etc but it is a brilliant record in my view.

Really enjoyed listening to it to be honest. Haven't heard it as an album in full for a long time.

    the sexual allegations

Allegations. Unproven. Fernando is probably an arsehole for many many reasons. I don't know him but what I do know is that this at present these are purely allegations and despite the shitshow of GNR, everyone is entitled to a fair 'trial'. Interesting how a significant proportion of the issues here relate to money. #justsayin

Found it on CMRRA (Canadian music rights database). Note that it mentions mechanical licensing, which is for physical copies. This registration seems also to have been submitted from Axl's end (Black Frog) though, like the SESAC registration. The writing credits are the same as on SESAC.

Good work! Let's hope that Monsters is indeed still on the vinyl as a hidden track. (then released digitally)

  9. Fernando aside....

The registration of the song as 'one' is the biggest mystery/clue. It is clear that they are indeed separate songs so why the fuck would they be registered together unless it was for a really good reason? Anyone found a separate registration as of yet for either song?

The fact they were leaked together from the same source... Likely to be quite recent recordings as they appear to be finished tracks (although lower audio quality).

The timing of the leaks is also crucial.

The communication from GNR hinted at a 'quality' issue which would could be a problem if they were trying to add a hidden track.

Still holding out some hope this end, especially as I just don't feel either track is good enough on its own but together they do sound more impressive, telling a story.
