  1.  I quite like the fact The General is a B side, it may even help it's cult status, which I believe the band/band management is well aware of.

B sides are designed to help support the A side and are not always a reflection of the songs quality. Just because it's a B side does not make it a throwaway song. A lot of bands would write songs with the intention of them being a B side. I also think that B sides are sometimes an ode to the die hard fans as well; yeah a single is aimed at trying to attract new fans but before the days of streaming and downloading I used to enjoy going out and buying my favourite bands singles, just so I could get my hand on the B side(s), and unless the single had massive exposure and appeal via radio, it would mostly be the bands fans buying anyway, to get that B side.

The way it's being released, is almost a nod to the ways things used to be done, and I kind of dig that. Even it means I will need to get The General via 'other means'.

7pm is waaaaayyy too early for a Tuesday show. People need time to get back from work

8pm would still give them 3 hours.

anyone know how big the golden circle is? Tried to see from the Arctic monkeys last night but not seen any good pictures yet.

Not sure, how big the Golden Circle is, Muse didn't have one, that was just one big open space. Looking at the venue plan for the Arctic Monkee's it was two pens.

Don't know if it means anything, but my ticket numbers for the Golden Circle are 831 and 832. More than likely the order the tickets were printed off in.

I believe the tape was posted to his managements, or maybe record labels address.

Either way I think they eventually got back in touch and confirmed Noel received it!

Whilst good for nostalgia and collection purposes the actual tape isnt that good. Noel had not yet matured as a song writer and it's still my belief that, for as good as Noel is in terms of singing and writing, he would never have made it without the band being fronted by Liam. It was Liam's look, attitude and vocal delivery that sold that band in the early years. Noel is technically the better singer but Liam is something else. Listen to Noel sung demos (all technically very good) and then listen to a Liam sung master and the song is taken to new heights.

All good with the pretty tied up live version, I’m just curious as to why those lyrics are in the booklet for uyi2 when it’s clear that the song fades out and ends before the says that part.

maybe it was done in mixing and was overlooked in the booklet

As I posted earlier in the thread, there is a rough/alternative mix of the song which doesn't fade out like the album master but rather ends like the way the live version does with Axl speaking that part. Not sure I can post the youtube link or not? Apologies if not.

14 Years (with extended outro, which I mentioned earlier also) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAUS0igIhhg

While your on topic about lyrics, I’ve always wondered if anyone can hear the lyrics that apparently exist on Shotgun blues right at the end?

(There’s ways - that we - can find)

    i just cant hear it.

also at the end of pretty tied up

(but I can tell you a thing or two
    'bout somethin' else
If you really want to know...know what I'm sayin')

that’s in the booklet but never heard it, only in live versions

    You mean pretty tied up.

The master that is on the album fades out but there is a rough cut out there whereby the song continues rather than fading out and ends like the live version with Axl saying the  ''tell you a thing or two" line. he extended 14 Years outro from the same tape is outstanding.
