  1. I love Oh My God, I originally remember downloading it from Napster during Christmas 99' and instantly falling in love with it.

Didn't Axl say during his chats that the version that came out on End of Day's is only the demo, and that its been reworked? But at the moment, there are no plans to release the reworked version? I hope that plan changes, and the fact that it was an option on the recent setlist, gives me hope that that plan has changed

  2. This article is a piece of glorified shit!

I was there on Sunday and as already discussed in the thread, GNR came on about an hour and 20 mins after Thin Lizzy. OK this isnt acceptable (but this is being discussed to the nth degree), but I feel that the article has completely sensationalised the crowds reaction.

I was in a position in the arena that pretty much let me see all the crowd. The arena was about 70/80% full.

There was some booing inbetween the PA songs, but there was also a lot of cheering and whistling, generally the atmosphere was pretty good. And the place went nuts when the band was on.

I only recall the one thing being thrown on stage, a plastic cup, during welcome to the jungle. Axl stopped the song, some booing here and general displeasure, but Axl gave a warning about throwing stuff and then started Jungle again from the start. I am not even sure if the cup was aimed at Axl, as I have been to a lot of gigs whereby cups are just generally being thrown, and not intentionally at the band. This was the only thing that was thrown on stage and the rest of the show went without any problems.

  3. Excellent post. I saw the original band in Gateshead 93 and I am just as excited now to see them in Newcastle. (Almost as excited to see new episodes of Dwarf in October Mr Flibble!)

So am I my friend! So am I

Will be leaving for the gig shortly, picking rkid up, driving into town, going to park my car in the office car park, quick walk to docks, swift pint in the pump house, enjoy Thin Lizzy, then its Guns N Fucking Roses baby rock2

  4. let's hope they break out of that strait jacket of a setlist!

I can't believe Europe falls for this rock n roll swindle.

    the same tour twice.

I went to the MEN in 06 and in 2010, and I am going tonight (my home town show), and it may not be a totally different set list to the shows in 06 and 10, but you know what, i dont care. I was never fortunate enough to see the original band, but I love this band and version of Guns N Roses; I love the music of Guns N Roses, both shows in 06 and 10 were amazing, and I am expecting another amazing show tonight.................I can not fucking wait!!!!

  5. Look its all well and good speculating who's decision it's been not to play, but throwing out wild accusations and trying to score points off one another is bullshit. Only the inner people within the GNR circle know what is going on and the reasons for not wanting to play.

It may not have been axl (although granted it probably has been his decision)

It may have even been Izzy - he may not have fancied getting up there and playing with the old band and being in the spotlight again

It may have been a contract issue with the hall or the TV companies

Maybe it was a joint decision as everyone is happy with where they are in their lives right now and happy with their own projects and want to avoid the whole reunion tour questions

Maybe Axl does plan on releasing a new album with the new guys and playing with the old guys tarnishes his chances with a record company of releasing that record if the record company has already seen that he was willing to play with the old guys

Hell it may have even been an issue on agreeing what songs are going to be played and who the damn drummer would be.

In short we dont fucking know, everyone just needs to chill the fuck out, relax, take a deep breath and just ride the ride and see what happens. As stated previously, it is good that everyone seems willing at least to be under the same roof

  6. Which UK venue would be the best chance to see Axl leaving and Hopefully getting him to sign something. After seeing him do this loads recently on youtube in NY , there might be hope to meet the main man himself!!!

The MEN arena in Manchester has a gated section where i believe the acts enter/leave and where the production trucks park/tour busses park up, so you may a glimpse if you wait there.

The Liverpool Echo Arena, i believe has an underground entrance/parking area, so highly unlikely to see anyone here.

Not sure what the other arena's are like

  7. Anyone know how the Planet Rock Presale works?

    http://www.planetrock.com/news/rock-news/guns-n-roses-announce-uk-tour-and-planet-rock-presale-3476/

I've registered but not sure how it works - will there just be a link to buy tickets on Thursday?

Only looking for standing tickets for Nottingham - can you buy standing on pre-sale?

I've just signed up too, I am assuming you will either get an email. There is also a tickets tab on the site, so you may access the presale from there once you are logged in to the site

Liverpool Echo Arena, I am there!

Wonder if we will get any of the bandmembers checking out the beatles museum just over the road from the arena, or any of the bars/shops in matthew street. I know Ron is influenced by the Beatles, and I am guessing Axl too, not sure about the other members.

  8. There isn't anything new about disappearing shows. The 2011 US tour seen a lot of this, it's about the creation of buzz. Without the uncertain element it wouldn't be a GN'R tour.

true! If the show isn't back up on ticketmaster by wednesday (day presails begin) then its time worry

  9. yeah i am a little concerned, but i have no doubt in my mind that will be great night, and intend to enjoy it as much as i can.

I went to the MEN gig in 06 and the band didnt come on till 10:40 and played a solid 2 hour show. There was no incidents or anything that night and the place was on fire, from the band to the audience. and this show (if memory serves me right) was sandwhiched inbetween a couple of shows that had some minor incidents.

I think the best thing that could have happened was for GNR to move on to the rest of europe before coming back over here, gives the bad press a chance to die down and reading and dublin will be forgotten about as the UK press will have found someone else to write shit about!

i can not wait for the show and the recent youtube clips are really getting pumped up!

only drawback - the due date of our first born is the same day as the gig - but i wont giving the gig a miss. lol rock3

  10. Wow sounds good! all good!

    and jackieamo! check this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Pitman

    is play.com a reliably source?

Play.com is extremely reliable, ive spent about £1500 on there is last 3 years on all sorts of different stuff. They usually get release dates and coming soon items pretty spot on! although will still have to wait and see about CD on play as they have been advertising a gnr dvd on their called Guns 'N' Roses: Broadcasting Live as due for release since decemeber or something like that! but it can only be a good sign that the cd is appearing on sites like this, it further credits HMV's release date too rock2
