  1. They didn't even mention that the fire marshal threatened to arrest and give a $1,000 fine to fans who attempted to drink or smoke inside the venue (this applied to the Guns N' Roses crew as well). I think GN'R did the right thing by cancelling the show. Can you just imagine the media backlash the band would've gotten after having numerous fans unfairly arrested and fined at the band's concert?

Also, had the show gone on, Axl would have probably gotten fuckin' pissed at the venue's security thus causing much turmoil.

Managment did the right thing. The explanation that Bach, Beta, Axl, and Merck have given us all fits together very well.

Where did that information come from? If true, GNR would have been much better off mentioning it in their press release, rather than making it sound like "the fire marshalls were just mean to us".

  2. I believe Merck/Axl. Biggest reason is because I've worked with bands and my best friend is a professional pyro guy, and I know some of the BS he's been through with regard to certain venues, regulations, and marshalls.

  3. I emailed Merck to ask him if Tina Chang was his assistant, and all he said was this:

"I cannot confirm or deny that. 2005 is the year of Tina Chang." :drevil:

I think I'm gonna message Ron about it.

    :rofl-lol::rofl-lol::rofl-lol:

Go take the TA out for a spin, that was too great!

Wow, you've got a good memory! :P I wonder if it's as good as Tina Chang's...

  4. Eh. At least they're communicating with us.

Personally, I don't see their statement as being all that unreasonable. As they said, they certainly didn't make any money by cancelling the show. Yeah, it would have been nice to have had the show anyway even without pyro, but the reality is that not one of us knows what goes on behind the scenes; only two guys know for sure and they're the ones who were involved in that statement to HTGTH. It's a little bit childish to jump to conclusions about what the reasons are/aren't for the cancellation.

  5. Great. 20 bucks says we have Kaneda's press release by 10am EST.

    Bahaha, funny stuff.

Very glad to see a statement, and I think it's a fair one at that. Kudos, GNR.

  6. I don't think the vocals are too bad. Like the reviewer on IGN said, you just can't get anyone that will sound like Axl Rose. The vocalists for the Ozzy/Nirvana/STP and a few other songs actually sound pretty close to the actual vocalists.

OVerall, though, GH2 kicks a ton of ass. rock1

  7. For the record, I didn't read what Del said to mean that BBF and Frank will be on the album. The way I read it was like this:

"Bumblefoot and Frank played on some tracks (from) Chinese Democracy".

Somebody needs to ask Ron or Del what he meant!

  8. I don't know... Letterman seems boring to me....

I always shut it off without giving him a chance.

Not every show's a winner. But I think Letterman's a comic genius. One of a kind talent. And lately it seems like they've been going for some pretty far out jokes.

Like the Osama Bin Laden commercials where they play one of his videos, but dub the voice to make it sound like he's selling toothpaste. And at the end, he always says... "Oh yea, and Death to America."

That's funny to me for so many reasons.

    x2 ^

    Letterman is great.
