  1. No we didnt talk about AFD but i dont believe him and Slash talked about it either. ;)

Thanks The Glow (S2B runs Slash France and i run GNRFrance)!

For now we dont have more info and i do think Slash is on a plane right now coming back to the US so we might not hear more before a few hours...

  2. I get it. I know you want to believe him badly. I've never really cared for "insiders" from either camp, to be honest.

He runs Slash France, he's brought us legit news time and time again, why not believe him?

He's my buddy and we just talked about it. He doesnt know more about this than us. What he meant was an assumption based on the fact that they dont sue each other anymore for each live release and all. But he didnt confirm the fact that he knows for sure from Slash's camp that they're talking or are friends or whatever.

  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it unknown at the time whether Robin was in the band when Chinese Democracy was released? Axl even said in the QA session he did that people should be more concerned about who is on the album than who is on the band.

Highly likely a similar situation will play out with the next album.

Actually Robin issued a press release along with Reznor saying he was going back to NIN only a few months prior CD's release, which seemed pretty odd at the time. A few days later the band issued a statement on the official site saying they didnt know what was going on with Robin. And 6 months later CD was released.

Maybe in early 2008, Robin was aware the actual CD tour wouldnt start before late 2009 and just decided to leave because he was getting bored or something?

  4. I met him backstage a few times on the 2006 tour, he's actually pretty cool. I remember he told us a story about how he couldn't get in at the MSG 2002 because he had lots of clothes on (there was a snow storm back then), and the security guards didn't recognize him and he forgot his pass. He finally managed to get in not long before the show.

I liked what he brought to the band in 2006 on tour!

  5. Hey guys, if you like Boston 2002, I uploaded 2 different angles:

    (center shot)

    (screenshot)

I'm surprised no one mentioned Albany 2002, this is one my fav shows from the new line-up, a great AUD shot in great quality, pretty cool rants too:

I also really liked Rock in Rio-Lisboa 2006, it's often forgotten because of Rock Am Ring but I think it's amazing (even if it's missing the new songs unfortunately):

  6. Argentina '93 (Sadly not that good sound on that one)

    Check out this version:

(select 480p for great picture quality too)

On topic: great footage in that documentary, wow! I think most of the shots are from the first leg of the UYI Tour, between May and December 1991 (even though it was paused during september and october). I'm pretty sure there are shots taken during the L.A Forum and MSG shows... I wonder if that TV channel has the full sources! I doubt it but if anyone knows someone who works there... ;)

  7. I voted for AFD, but for me it's difficult to compare Myles and Axl singing. I don't think GN'R songs suit Myles, but that's just me.

On AFD I loved the production, the setlist and really enjoyed the boxset with the Blu-ray + 2CDs. Axl's voice was probably better in 2014 with Yesterdays and all (and even better in 2006 at Rock Am Ring for instance), but overall I really liked that release.

  8. Yeah i was at the London 2012 show, when izzy forgot the words to 14 years and Axl mucked up civil war, great show !

Nice to hear someone else likes appetite for democracy, it doesn't sound terrible like certain people say IMO, it's getting battered because of the people who and who arnt in the band

I did enjoy that release, which was the first one since Chinese Democracy, can't say we are overwhelmed with GN'R releases... I think it's greatly edited, sound is great and Axl did a good job on that show. I think a lot of fans are bitter. Oh well, anyway I bought the digital release and the Blu-ray and I watch it pretty often!

  9. Good point ! Was it rock fuel that were filming the London O2 show 2012 that never got released but I've got it anyway

No it was a different company (Studio: LiveBeats / Allied Media). Rock Fuel even commented on that studio's work on the London show and its weird release/ non-release. The London show is really badly filmed and edited, which is too bad because the concert is pretty cool. I'm glad we had a Japanese full HD TV broadcast though!

I'm glad Rock Fuel got an award for Appetite For Democracy, I really enjoyed the Blu-ray + 2CDs set!

  10. Yes, peace Axl. :)

Really cool you're doing that. To be honest, the ownership of the name Guns N' Roses has never been an issue for me. I mean, you acquired the rights for it, and the other guys left the band for their own reasons, too bad for them I guess. My question would be: have you ever thought one day, with all the bashing you got from the media and from some fans, to actually change the name of the band (keep the current members but choose another name)? If so, what were your ideas of a new name?

You're starting off with an ongoing debate on fan boards for the past few years, so there will be many questions I bet.

Take care man, I hope there will be more topics, including some about your feelings on playing the Illusion songs and the recording process, etc.
