  1. I jsut want to say that Im proud how this entire community has reacted to this recent excitement! It was really cool that within an hour of IRS being leaked that we already had posters lobbying to not hear anything else (specifically TWAT) because they want to respect the wishes of Axl and co. Considering all the time weve spent waiting, etc - I think its pretty cool that we still have that level of respect for the band that we adore and obviously care so much about

Keep rocking guys. Have a Bud on me!

    Piss on this.

I'm still buying the CD the day it comes out, even if I postiively HATED what I heard (though I did not in any way, I loved it).

But basically, Axl is getting my $17.99 either way, so he can relax. Meanwhile, leak anything that's out there I say.

    Sure.

I'm sure that type of blind faith is to be expected with everyone.

    Right.

Because people still come here everyday because they don't care anymore and have lost interest.

    Dope.

  3. What a joke this is.

We keep the home fires buring for this guy for over a decade. This, despite the fact he either shits all over us or ignores us (you decide). But we are still so into what he is doing that we all but wet our pants at a freakin' demo.

Which of course is handled by admonishing us and demanding all tracks be removed.

Hey Merck, wake the fuck up. Anyone who still even cares about this is buying the CD anyway.

    This is pathetic.

  4. "you'll see it" is what Axl said and since when has Axl let his fans down. he promised we'd see the illusions and we did. i have compleate faith in Axl and the New band

    SS.

But the problem as I see it is that Axl is vastly overestimating how many people are left with this mindest.

But if the ticket sales on the 2002 tour didn't clue him in, he'll never catch on.

  5. Do you think the new guys know all the old songs. Do you think they know old songs like "Think About You," "Bad Obsession," "Bad Apples>" You know, the more obscure GnR tunes?

    Absolutely not.

In fact, that is why I think there was such an absence of UYI material on the aborted 2002 tour. Other than the singles, there wasn't much. And I think its because they never took the time to practice them and get them down pat.

Frankly, I think it sucks. I'm not saying they have to learn them all. Hell, even the old band rarely if ever did certain ones. But I think the new crew could have learned tunes like 'Double Talkin Jive', 'Civil War' or 'Perfect Crime'. Basically, songs that even the old played played pretty often.

  6. Maybe they could have it in conjunction with the Israeli-Palestinian group picnic.

    Get real.

And then after that happens we can all have a get together and laugh at that funny joke :drevil:

You are all completely lame (except the ones who want it), this would be the greatest tour in rock history. If you don't have a dream... what's the point in life? Losers!

It's called living in the real world, ace.

I'd like to fuck Jessica Alba each night on a big pile of money. Guess what? It has about as much of a chance of happening as your little tour here.

  7. It could be one of the biggest tours in rock history. It would be absaloutely off the chart. There is no reason why it couldn't happen. Axl and Slash have both said they 'love' one another. It would be cool, imagine Slash coming out and playing a few songs with Guns N' Roses. I would pay any amount of money to see that tour and if there were ever a reunion this would be the way to achieve it.

The joined Chinese Democracy and Libertad world tour. Amazing.

    Thoughts?

Maybe they could have it in conjunction with the Israeli-Palestinian group picnic.

    Get real.

  8. What is the worst thing that could be on CD if it comes out, in terms of destryoing the album and such?

My worst fear would there being Rap on any parts of it, as i despise any sort of rap.

    Any thoughts?

My concern about the new songs we have heard is that they don't really have proper choruses or any sort of consisent structure.

Perfect example is 'The Blues'. Really, really like the song. But it has no real chorus and I think ultimately that would hurt its potential to be a single.

Yeah, yeah, I know Axl said nothing we have heard will wind up on the album, but I think he is full of it. All the more so since he said at that Korn party that 'The Blues' was one of the ones he felt strongest about.

  9. It's just another journalist who has taken the quotes from the RS article and used it as a basis for their own article. It's not exactly a great example of journalism to write about someone using second hand quotes.

Hmmm...true...but if Axl wasn't so difficult to get ahold of for an interview, it might be different. That whole unwillingness to share information and reclusive-like behaviour and all

    Exactly right.

Which is why I always take Axl's lamenting about inaccurate info about the band floating around as a rather hollow complaint.

All the bitching about how things are inaccurate...does he ever take a moment to set the record straight? Seriously. I am not asking him to make a documentary, but he can't give 'Rolling Stone' a legit interview? What would that take? A few hours of his life??

And it would be maybe the most anticipated interview the magazine could land.

Axl brings a lot of his problems on himself. Its follish to suggest otherwise.

  10. I love threads like these.

Before a new song actually comes out and we know for sure, I find it interesting to see what some other fan's take on the lyrics are.

These are the verses as best as I can figure, but I am unclear on the wording to some of the chorus.

    1st verse :

When you first told me you were gone

So long ago and I been here long

All the hope of getting out of this wreck

The fact is you've not seen the worst yet

When I need another favorite I take

Means that you might not be gone anyway

Can't believe that I was out there alone

Couldn't see it coming all along

    2nd verse :

I been too sure to offer my help

I set it up again dressed as somebody else

    Feel I'm stumbling all along

Feel like never get ya outta this song

Feel I'm just too sad to kill

Maybe like I just walked in my shit

They'll be waiting on me I know

Like a broken record for so long

As for what its about, to me, it seems obvious it about Axl's struggles to put this new band together. That second verse especially.

  11. i still listen to it like at least once a week. that song sounds great!!!!

    Pretty often.

I just wish we had a better version. What sort of sick world do we live in where we have a crap quality version of this and a soundboard version of 'Silk Worms'??

  12. you do realize someday could be 10, or 200 years from now eh?

Six, don't you think? Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Can't picture it happening in the near future. But six years may translate into near future in the GNR Otherworld.

They are not getting into the RnR HOF based on 2 studio albums, an EP, and a cover album.

Let's just take off our GNR colored glasses here. If this were a band we were not diehard about, if presented with those facts, no way in hell you'd think they are HOF material. I know I wouldn't.

  13. no it was weird it was reading out the news and down the bottom it says more news that you read.

and it just said Guns n Roses news axl rose is reported to have said Guns n Roses one day could join forces again.

then went onto next news i nearly choked on my dinner! lol

it prob is nothing and i dont wanna start gettin people excited i just couldnt believe it and thought id share hopefully someone else seen it and can back me up

Frankly, the bigger story was that Axl was even spotted in public.

  14. Buckethead is the second greatest rock guitarist of all-time...2nd only to Paul Gilbert...

That is your opinion. My opinion is that Buckethead is a cold guitarist, with no 'feeling', that also happens to wear a mask and a KFC bucket on his head. The man belongs in a circus freak show, if not a mental hospital given his eccentric fascination with chickens and 'talking' hand puppets. The flag throwers calling his act a 'gimmick' can keep believing that if they want to. That's their right. But, I remind everyone, Slash's top hat is a good gimmick. Not a nut with a crazy persona that wears a mask and a KFC bucket on his head.

    I tend to agree.

Buckethead is just too out there. He almost seems like a Vince McMahon creation rather then a serious guitarist.

Any new incarnation of GNR is going to face an uphill climb for credibility as it is. Buckethead only hurts that process.

  15. Ok first of all i am being prepared for all the name calling and saying im telling lies to come my way but i was watching Mtv uk and mtv news came on and it said axl rose has reportedly said the original Guns n Roses may well play again some day. i swear this is what it said and it didnt say its been confirmed just that its bee reported and my friend just called me shouting did you watch Mtv lol.

i know im gonna get shot down but thats what Mtv said

But its likely just a rehash of the "well, never say never I guess" answer they all tend to give.

Its a story now because Axl has just been heard from again and Axl sightings are about as frequent as the Olympic games.

  16. I been too sure to offer my help

I set it up again dressed as somebody else

    Feel I'm stumbling all along

Feel like I'll never get ya outta this song

Feel I'm just too sad to kill

Maybe like I just walked in my shit

They'll be waiting on me I know

Like a broken record for so long

    Gonne call the President

Oooh, gonna get myself a private eye

    Gonna get the IRS

    Gonna get myself the FBI

Gonna make this a federal case

Gonna win and rub it right in your face

I don't know how else you could intrepret these lyrics except being about the old band and putting the new one together. Especially the lines in bold.

  17. Hey fellow Gunners, I have some bad news to announce, as I said before my kid brother works for Evolution, the corporate finance house, involved in the restructuring of Sanctuary Group.

Evolution are now in complete control over Sanctuary’s finances which also means budgeting and forecasting I can tell you guys now that nothing (outgoings and inflows) has been penciled in for the first half of 2006 for Guns N Roses.

There you have it, if 2006 will be the year that CD is released start thinking end of summer at the earliest you will not see or hear it sooner nor will a single be released or a gig planned.

    Shocking.

Now just get the words "1st Half Of" out of the thread title, and I think you have the full picture.

  18. Axl was NOT on this morning, I fucking called it on the first page of this thread and you said whatever, I fucking told you next time listen, by the way there is something going on in the camp, and some of you may not like it....

    stay tuned

    Gunsguy

Wow, aren't you just a world reknowned psychic?

You actually went out on a limb and declared that Axl Rose would not give a public interview.

    What a gambler.

  19. How come I only see one person in a five page thread with a realistic answer?

No promoter is going to touch them with a ten foot clown pole. Look at the factors :

    - the lead singer is prone to storming offstage for his own reasons

    - this is when he shows up at all

    - ticket sales on that 2002 US tour were very disappointing

    - can you even market this band after that 2002 debacle?
