slashfan31
well, me and my band are going into this contest and we're playin VR's Set me Free, the extended version from Rock am Ring 2005 and i need some help with improvising during the end of the song. If anyone could tell me any scales that would work apart from the minor pentatonic and blues scale that are the ones i'm currently using i would be really grateful.thanks in advance
slashfan31
Try having the band modulate to the subdominant key and follow them along. Like a blues thing. If they're jamming out the riff in A, then have 'em switch to D for a few measures. You can solo in D major or D minor along with them, and then transition back down to A.yeah thats what we do we switvh from A to D along the outro, but what i need to know is which scales do you think would sound cool with the song, cause at the moment im just using pentatonics and blues
