dismalswamp Posted August 21, 2008 Share Posted August 21, 2008 If you have a genuine R4 or DSTT then no it does not affect the DS in any way. Updating the R4 purely involves copying the _system_ folder onto the card, overwriting what was currently there. You don't even need to backup your games and saves and copy them back like you would need to with the DS Linker. You do not need to do anything with the firmare on the DS itself - leave that as is. Nintendo's DS firmware can be replaced with custom firmware but it is not necessary for the R4. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GET OFF AXLS BACK Posted August 21, 2008 Author Share Posted August 21, 2008 Thanx dismal, saved firmware files to micro sd card but when i turn ds on it doesn't move from loading screen.Contacted seller and they linked me firmware for micro sdhc which is what they sold me, repeated and still nothing.
