Guest RonMexico82 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 So I set up a forum for Hunter S. Thompson fans to discuss his work and it is driving me crazy. I used makeforum.org and they suck majorly. No support whatsoever and it is always crashing/full of bugs etc. You can check it out here http://totallygonzo.2ksite.comNow what I would like to do is start over but I haven't a clue about sql or servers or anything like that. So I need to use another free service that handles that side of things for you. Any suggestions? Quote
kevin Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 For just software that you host yourself I like phpBB.For the ones where they host it for you... not sure. Quote
Guest RonMexico82 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 I went with proboards. Seems better than what I was using - here is the new forum - http://totallygonzo.proboards.com Quote
Conor Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 As far as I know ProBoards is pretty good, but I've always used Invision Free. Quote
MakeShift Heart Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Proboards is best for beginners because it's pretty easy to run and you can make your own skins. My personal favorite is invisionfree www.invisionfree.com i use this for almost all of my boards. Quote
