Do Axl/Slash/Duff/Izzy know how beloved their work is?

Recommended Posts

Hey--

This might come as an odd question but:

Do Axl, Slash, Izzy and Duff realize both the impact GN'R had--the effect their music had on popular culture, people's lives, etc etc? Did they EVER consider keeping it together "for the fans"?

I ask because I think too often talented artists, like The Beatles for example, don't really see the beauty of their work or even the impact it has on it's fans. John Lennon for example said in his last interview that he loathed most of The Beatles' material and if he could he would go back and record it totally different...He didn't really see the impact outside of the toll it took on the band members as people.

But have Axl and the others ever realized that their work touched peoples' lives, more often than not in a positive way?

A side question but how do the other guys (Slash, Duff, Izzy) tend to look back on the GN'R days--More happy memories, or more negative ones? More a good time in their lives or a bad time?

Similarly, has Axl ever acknowledged that the Old GN'R did create some beautiful stuff together and lit up the world? Does he have ANY positive feelings regarding the old days, any positive memories, or are his feelings on anything concerning the old band tainted with bitterness?
