spazprm
I'm not sure what your asking. But I believed they toured together because at the time they were both the biggest bands in rock/metal. Which was mainstream at that moment. And a lot of that conflict between the bands happened during or after the tour. Basically you got the biggest ego's going against each other, but I've heard the tour rocked. Yeah, it was pretty much so that the fans could get what they wanted: the 2 biggest and best bands on the same stage. There wasn't really any conflict between the bands, although Hetfield was disappointed with Axl's antics.
Wreckless_Life
This must've been a great show. You had Faith No More opening up, then Metallica give a 3 hour performance and finally a 3.5 hour set from GNR. Anyone who went to one these shows is lucky. Are you saying that Metallica opened for Guns???I have an interview where Axl says "we wanted to look as big as they are", or something like that
santana
They didn't technically open, but since there were 2 headlining bands, one of them had to go first.
Wreckless_Life
But we all know deep down that Guns (especially Axl) would never go on b4 Metallica.
gernm18
^ well in an interview metallica said that they like going on stage early and gnr liked being late so... it made sense
