appetite for illusions
Pretty direspectful, don't ya think? And they were asked to by Guido Bertolaso, who is overseeing Romes arrangements. Queen said that the show took place after consultation with local authorities. They did observe a minutes silence though.
DirtyDeeds
well, I wouldn't give two shits about the pope being dead. I would, however, be very very upset at a Queen show being cancelled if I had tickets for it. Good decision Brian.

GunsNHalen
I know I would be totally pissed off if Queen canceled their show because of the Pope's death. If anything, they should kick off the show and say something like , "we dedicate this show to the Pope" and then they rock on with some kickass music. Rumin
It wasn't disrespectful to continue with the concert at all. By not playing, Queen wouldn't satisfy their fans or the Pope, so why not go on with the show? It only makes sense.
