swlabr
I'm sure this is a dumb question, but is there any difference between a Gibson Les Paul and an Epiphone Les Paul? I just wanna get this question outta my head!
GunsnRoses0522
I got a epiphone, really good, but gibsons are better.
FORKS
the gibson les paul is made using high quality materials. the wood is better, the pickups and electronics are better. The hardware on a gibson is also better. Gibsons are made in the usa while most epis are made in korea i believe. The gibson is also a much better guitar if you have the money. swlabr
Thanks. And if anyone can make a suggestion on a good starter guitar. I'm thinking of a Fender Strat. Is it worth it?
FORKS
what do you mean by a starter guitar? if your just starting out i reccomend the ibanez jumpstart pack. The guitar is awesome. the amp is pretty good and it comes with a lot of stuff. If you already have an amp and all that I suggest a Epiphone Lespaul or a fender stratbut it depends on how much your willing to spend
swlabr
Thanks man. That really helped. And I really meant Beginner not Starter
FORKS
no problem. what i suggest is to go down to you local music store and spend a while playing the guitars. play everything you know. if its a smaller store play every one they got. Me Scandar
Well, Gibson Les Pauls are made with higher grain quality, hand-crafted and exquisitly examined...while Epi's are made in korea with cheaper woods, not so good electronics, and made in facory lines, but with if u buy a epi, change the electronics, upgrade the switch, and put some good Alnico Pro's, youll get a very good result out of it for like 500 bucks less than a gibson... -Sephiroth-
If you want a les paul style guitar with slash style but can't afford a Gibson, you can buy a epiphone and change the pickups to the Seymore Duncan Alnico pro 2It will cost alot less then a Gibson and still sound good
abitestranged
If you want a les paul style guitar with slash style but can't afford a Gibson, you can buy a epiphone and change the pickups to the Seymore Duncan Alnico pro 2It will cost alot less then a Gibson and still sound good Buying a epi and changing the pickups is point less. Go to rondomusic.net and buy one of their agile les pauls which come with a alnico 2 pickups. Their finishes are better than epi's.
pagge
If you're not a very good player. you don't gain much on buying a gibson. save your money and go for the epiphone
axlslash
Get an accoustic. You're better off learning on one, then switching.
matt_barker
i dont play guitar , but all i know is that pick-ups on the epiphone arent as good as on the gibson..
dizzigzag
if you are just starting buy a cheap guitar like a squier beause that wont be a waste if money if you give up playing guitar after a short period of time but if you want to buy a expensive guitar first make sure your a 100 percent commited to playing guitar. Gibsons are bult using better quality material and have better sound. so dont waste your money you may regret it
