i have to go with allen collins cause if you hear the end of free bird the guitar solo on there is mind blowing and i know gary rossington helps but allen collins is more of the lead guitar player. brain may is real good though but i had to pick collins so what do yall think.

Metallica is my favorite band, so I was as impartial as I could be.

But based on versatility, speed, and technique, I'm going with Kirk Hammet.

All the guys up there are great, but I could imagine that Kirk would be able to handle all of their songs with no problem. Now picture those guys trying to do something like One or Damage Inc, I don't think it would happen.

I prefer kirk, he just wrote some kick ass solo's, he is also the first guitarplayer who impressed me, so therefore he's my favourite. technicall he's also great, just listen to the solo on live shit. it's just amazing. Kirk is Amazing. my favourite alltime rock1

I think Pepper is the best, skill/technique wise, but I think Brian May or Collins write the best solos, as far as memorable, melodic great solos
