Guest gnr>everything Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I want to buy a Beatles or Rolling Stones album, but I'm not sure which one to get first, after A Bigger Bang of course...So which one? I'm leaning towards The White Album because it's more songs, but that also means more money. Quote
swlabr Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 (edited) The White Album! Dude, go for it :krider:EDIT: Might mean more money, but those 30-something bucks you use is worth it.. Edited September 9, 2005 by S W L A B R 7 Quote
Rumin Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Either one is a winner. I'd buy Exile myself, but both are considered classics for a reason. Quote

I love The Beatles. Martha my dear is another personal fave but..WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS / ALL !! Quote

Yamisonic Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I own both, and I am a fan of both. EXILEExile is great. When people said it's good because of its raw attitude, they were right. The problem is, some songs aren't too good. But there are really great ones -- Rocks Off is my personal favourite off the album, along with Shine A Light. Everybody gets a favourite song off that album that isn't a hit. It's a great album. However ..WHITE ALBUMDude, this album ROCKS. Definitively, the best atmosphere in ANY ALBUM. The songs sound so great put together (George Martin and John Lennon spent over 24 hours on the sequences). It's more than an album, really. It's perfect. And it has got some really awesome songs. I can't explain how good this is, and I don't mean it because I'm a Beatles fan, but this album is really incredible. You've got to listen to it to know what I mean.Exile has got quite a few weak spots, that's why I don't like it much. But The White Album hasn't got any. Not even Revolution 9 is bad. It's quite an experience really. Listen to it with headphones as you're falling asleep. It's really, really scary. And when you think it can't get any scarier, it becomes Good Night and you get that feeling. And Wild Honey Pie is funny! Get both, but White Album first. Everybody should get The White Album right now. Quote
JeanGenie Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I really like the stones buteven I prefer The White Album over Exile. And I own both. With the White Album Macca took over the creative leadership of the band. Quote

Rumin Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 The sunshine bores the daylights out of me....Want to know what that means? Buy Exile! Quote
Guest gnr>everything Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I bought Exile. So far it's awesome...I really wanted The White Album but I asked my Dad which to get and he said The White Album was better, but not worth $30, so I got Exile. Quote
Rumin Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Either way, you got a great album. You'll love Exile On Main Street. Quote
Yamisonic Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 I've been listening to the White Album, or Disc 1 since I lost Disc 2 (it's a copy from my brother so it cost me less than a dollar anyway). And I found out why it was my favourite album so long ago. It still is. Quote
