slashNstrad
ive noticed the low prices at musiciansfriend.com compared to the AVT series and other marshall amps so i figured there not as good as most marshall amps.....is that true?by the way- post 500 Edited October 26, 2005 by slashNstrad
kevin
They're cheaper because they are solid state, not tube.
santana
They are also smaller than the regular Marshalls. It's a 100watt amp, but only puts out 80watts through the cabinet that it comes with. It's a pretty loud amp, enough to gig with, I suppose, but I'd use it more for practice; it doesn't get the bottom end that I'm looking for. Clean tones are much better than the distorted ones with this amp.

santana
I'm talking about the stack. I've never used the combo. All in all, the stack is a pretty good amp. It will get loud, but it's sound isn't suited for my tastes. I play some heavy shit, and the amp gets too much high gain for my taste. But like I said, clean tones are great.
