Its pathetic this kurt cobain hating, you dont see nirvana fans whinging about axl rose

Yes you do... besides, I don't dislike Kurt because I'm a GNR fan, I dislike Kurt for his attitudes and opinion and generally being-a-right-cockness.

Yes because axls attitude has always been spot on, hummmmmmm..........

Cant really pick a worst of all time because there are so many bands to choose front, but frontmen I cant stand include:

Justin Hawkins - Well hes got the spirit and passion and a not bad voice when it isnt at the glass smashing pitch but it's his attitude about himself. Fucking huge ego beyond his talent. Knob.

Bono - DULL DULL DULL DULL BORING DULL DULL DULL BORING DULL DULL DULL!!!OMFG!!111!!!!!!

how can you say that!!!! :o

I saw The Darkness before they hit the big time and they were good, great even, Justin was full of energy and strutting his stuff and it was a great show, in fact, if you look on the back pages of the Permission to Land album booklet thing, the big scene of the crowd, I'm in there and I could point myself out but it's too much hassle. That was at the Download Festival 2003. Anyway thats missing the point, which is while hes a good performer, his voice has just become irritating, and some dipshit actually let him speak to the media and as such, his ego has shot skywards and basically sees himself as a rock legend. Its up to rock fans to decide who reaches legend status thank you mr hawkins. He needs taken down a peg or two.

As for Bono, the way he speaks, the way he moves on stage, the way he sings, the way he wears those fucking shades indoors. if he fronted coldplay you would have a reached the peak of wrist slitting depressing music.

I don't particulary like Axl Roses attitudes sometimes either but at least he was rock, and had lots of energy on stage.

Kurt was, and you cant deny it, a rather depressing sole to watch on stage. Ooo he jumped about now and then and hammered out power chords. the challeneges he must of faced in his musical career.

Bono's voice in the 80's was brilliant, not so much now maybe, hes also consistently been a great songwriter and uses his stardom and money to get involved in politics and charities so hes hardly the worst frontman ever

He's a horrible arrogant little man, politics and music almost never mix and he's a prime case of that. He plays in a rock band, a horrible middle of the road reverb happy rock band at that, in absoloutely no positition to be telling anybody what to be doing or how to be living ESPECIALLY after the idiot sued an ex stylist for keeping one of his hats, and THEN getting her to pay the legal fees he brought upon her, right in the bastard middle of Live 8.

The original Live Aid set stank aswell, the 'pulling the girl out the audience' stunt was cringe worthy, as they knew they needed something like that or they'd be back working in kwik save the minute it was over.

Coldplays dad's.

Why shouldnt politics and music mix? I totally disagree with that and along with queen, u2 were the best band at live aid, your actually the first person ive heard call that performance bad

If it's done well, it can work, most of the time it isnt, as much as i love the dead kennedys, a few of the lyrics get a bit silly, but they have the music to back it up.

Then suddenly you geta band like travis writing political songs and no one cares any more.

I'm not reall after any 'deep meaning maaaaaaaan' when i listen to music, i just want to listen to good fucking music, lyrics, mainly, i dont care about.

The whole Pop Chart political thing died down pretty briefly after the Travis mess, Green Day were on a come back so could bang on about it all on a bigger scale.

aside from that, most deep meaningful stuff should be relegated to tequila bar open mic nights.

I partialy agree with the nirvana part. Some people do pointlessly bash nirvana just bacause of the axl/kurt thing. Still, there's nothing wrong with critisism if it's done right. I actualy love Nirvana, but I do think kurt was a mediocre frontman at most. Not much of an entertainer that interacts with the croud a lot.

The rest of your post is a bit sad....

You love Nirvana, but you do think that Kurt Cobain was a mediocre frontman... That's interesting. <_<

Some meaningful stuff can actually be appealing, I'm thinking of Antony Hegarty and Rufus Wainwright to name but two, which can be insular to the writer but can also be affecting to the listener too. But it's down to taste really.

Yeah i agree with the chart politics thing is a mess these days, such as I predict a Riot by the Kaiser Chiefs that was supposedly political but in the end became a hit on its own basis just due to the sheer commercialism.

aye, i predict a riot isnt too obviously political, and its more of a witty social commentary thing, which a lot more people have access to judge, if you're going on about east ukranian voting policy, no ones gonna have a clue.

rufus wainwright, awesome!

Roger Waters

*takes bait*

I'm curious why you think so Genesis.

I can see a few reasons why people would hate waters as a frontman, but I'm curious as to what yours are.

He just wasn't memorable as such. His voice also wasn't up to much and he just seemed to fill the space between the music. Neither were particularly good frontment, but then their music wasn't about them putting on a one man show really.

Agreed there. Waters also developed the huge ego attitude at some point. Which I can understand people would hate. Roger's singing could vary from horrible to reasonably good. He also blew his voice somewhere in the late 70's early 80's. Gilmour was never a spotlight man either. Just focussed on his music. And yeah, that is basicaly the PF attitude. Focussing on the music, not on them. Not so much the entertainers that interact with the croud directly.

I sort of agree there, Rog and David defantly are not the best frontmen, Floyd live shows centred on the music and the stage effects/light shows. Though Roger was a better frontman than David, Rog was pretty medicore up until The Wall tour where he was great. He portrayed the roll of Pink perfectly, it wasn't a live show it was a operatic performance.

As for worst, yeha i would have to say the guy from Simple Plan, my sister has their live DVD, and he's horrible.
