The Sandman
Hey Gunners,I've got a dumb question that I can't seem to answer, what's the difference between Soundboard and Non-Soundboard? Both in litteral terms, and in quality terms.Cheers to whoever answers,TS.
Rick
Ok, well, it's not dumb at all by the way!SoundboardA signal from the PA system can be directly recorded onto MD etc. Some venues have headphone ports (for the hard of hearing) dotted around the building and allows you to record exactly what is coming out of the venue's PA without using a mic - so you basically have an audio output from the stage directly from the soundboard. While this sometimes sounds better it often sounds quite dry because there is no crowd sound on the recording (because the crowd noise doesn't directly go through the PA.Non Soundboard The opposite - someone stands there with a mic recording exactly what they hear.Worst explanation ever i'm afraid R.
