chicagocoma13
On An Island is pretty weak. David's wife wrote almost all of the songs. His voice is great but Waters was always the best songwriter in Floyd and possibly the best arranger ever. I can't believe after 18 years without a solo album David could not come out with his own material. I still love his guitar playing and think he is a brilliant guitarist but not a very good writer. He lacks the angst and emotion of Mr Waters. I am still pretty psyched about seeing him live here in Chicago. Just to hear those guitar tones will be magic. I hope to hear some of his older and better solo stuff like Murder or Out of the Blue.
Binge_And_Slash
As many reviews I have read put it"A poor man's Division Bell, and that's saying something"Most places gave it a 4 or 5 out of 10.
