I don't think it really helps them and I don't really know why they have acquired it apart from the singer's voice being a bit high pitched. I mean, I hope to see them at Download because they're a pretty good band but I can't really take them too seriously sometimes. Take that video where it's the half man, half horse rescuing a mermaid from the clutches of a great big tentacled monster. Bit like Maiden in that respect hehe, all part of the fun I guess. It's a self-parody, by being ridiculous and theatrical, and totally unrelated to the storyline of the song/album, makes it alot funnier.
