madison
It seems Axl has retained the services of a hair stylist here in the U.S. to travel with him in Europe. I guess this means the braids are here to stay. But actually, I like the braids. Here's an excerpt from the May 22 edition of the Philadelphia Daily News: ... Axl still sounds great but he should really lose the crazy-looking cornrow weave he's rocking. His locks, as it happens, are now in the hands of Liz Jacobs , a local hair/makeup artist who'll tour Europe with the band as Axl's hair stylist through July. Jacobs, a CAPA grad, says her friend Michael Kuhn , of Salon Thalia, who styles Daryl Hall 's hair, hooked her up with the gig. ..

Hallucination
Lose the braids Axl. It just looks too fake. From the side it's not too bad but when looking at him straight on it looks like a wig. I bet he'd look younger without them as well.
Moop
I like the braids now. They're definetly an improvement from the '02 Matrix twins look.
Philly Guns
I like the braids now. They're definetly an improvement from the '02 Matrix twins look.Yea definitely, this version of his hair is so much better probably because of the facial hair
OTHAFA
The braids make him look like a joke to every music fan in the world that isn't a diehard Axlite. They look absolutely ridiculous and is so obviously a weave. He needs to ditch it, ASAP. His hair was fine in 2001. Edited May 23, 2006 by OTHAFA

He needs to ditch it, ASAP. His hair was fine in 2001.Well part of the reason he changed his hair in 2002 is because he picked up so much criticism from people like yourself in 2001 when he showed up for RIR. "He's fat, he can't sing anymore, his face is fucked up," etc. No wonder he changed his hair. It's also a deliberate move to separate himself from his old image.I'm not sticking up for his hair (although I don't think the cornrows look NEARLY as bad as the dreads) but good god...you anti-Axl GN'R fans would bash him no matter what. T Patten
He actually has a stylist for his wig?, i thought he would've just glued it on every morning
Hallucination
His hair was fine in 2001. No doubt. Actually his hair wasn't just fine it actually looked cool. Now it just looks silly. His voice is sounding great though so if keeping the braids means sounding great than braid away Axl. Not that one would have anything to do with the other

All he had to do to cure his fatness was hit the gym, not put in hair extensions.
sammerc
Speaking from someone who knows and puts in extensions, at this point, having them so for so many years now. His natural hair couldn't possibly be the same. Some breakage would occur and IF his hair was thinning and ASSUMING this is the reason for the inital application in the first place, I would be suprised if he decided to take them out any time soon. For his problem would be worse at this point. I think they are here to stay. I personally don't mind them. They are growing on me now that they are shorter. Having said that, if he didn't have them, and he had the EXACT hair circ. 1991, he still wouldn't look the same. It is the eyes. Don't get me wrong though. The guy still does it for me! There is only ONE guy who can move that way!!

I don't think Axl will care, he has always worn what he wants. Look at the biker shorts in the UYI days, people saw them as a joke aswell, he didn't care.Even when Axl came to LA and wore cowboy boots people thought they were stupid to. bunbury_hmr
I dont hate the braids, but I'd much prefer him with his classic cut. Most people dont know that if Axl would not have the braids in a Show, he would have a huge 'fro if he doesnt have his hair straightened if he doesnt get braids.Thats the price he has to pay for that "look".It would be funnier to see him with dreads.I get used to his look after a while so why complain if my personal opinion isnt going to change anyone. The man is back on stage doing what he does and is the best in the world at doing it, so who really cares how he has is hair for fuck sake. Ultrastar
I don't see why people complain about Axl's hair. His hairstyle looks damn good. At least he didn't pull a Hetfield, and cut his hair short. Long live Axl Rose, for not not listening to the nay sayers, and staying true to himself.Axl Rose, love him or hate him, he does what he wants, he wears what he wants, and says what he wants. There is only ONE guy who can move that way!! Speaking to my GF about his hair, she is a specialist in extensions etc too. Seems that Axls hair isnt the same as it once was. To some effect the current style maintains the long hair rock image and as long as Axls happy thats great but this style he has adopted because hes had to really. Men do tend to lose their hair at some point and thats just the way life is. I really hope Axl isnt having this style just because he thinks fans will lose interest in him if he had short hair. Its about the music and always will be. Axl is a TRUE legend!
