anyone else worried?

it seems to me that this tour is almost more for the benefit of Axl's rich and famous friends than it is for the fans. I mean surely the point of Guns n' Roses is not that they can attract Matt Perry and Mickey Rouke to shows but rather that they're a fantastic rock n' roll band? The impromtu acoustic gig for instance, imagine that performed at one of the cities great rock clubs, for the fans, instead of some exclusive club for a load of actors and fashion designers who don't care half as much about the band as the real fans do. I don't think i've seen a report or review yet that doesn't mention with glee how many "important" people turn up.

I'm past the point of expecting Axl to fuck hookers and beat up glam kids on the sunset strip, the man's too old and it would just be foolish (DLRoth style), and i don't care if there isn't a shred of bad ass attitude left in Axl but i'd really like to see him doing something for the fans, instead of becoming part of an irritating self-congratulating scene populated by New York's famous types. Even the shows had a slight air of this to them, Axl taking the stage with Kid Rock and Seb Bach, wearing designer sunglasses and taking a hair stylist on tour with him.

Really my point is that i really was expecting the band to come back with a bang, i always thought there was a chance of some on-the-fly gigs to boost exposure but i expected them to be for the benefit of the fans. What i really don't want to see is the world's greatest rock n' roll band hanging out with a load of talentless fuckwits telling each other how brilliant they all are. Slash and Duff used to hate those people, getting fucked up at the MTV awards and not giving a damn how important other people thought they were, that's rock n' roll. Wouldn't hurt to have a lil' sleaze back, don't care if its Axl or not but i hope someone starts banging groupies and turning up drunk now and again. Or at least fighting back when some dickhead fashion type starts on them.

This goes to show that if there is something to complain about, some asshole somwhere and somehow will complain about it. I have heard some two nickle complaints about Axl before, but this has to be one of the stupidest rants I have ever heard...Seriously, only a gay porn could be gayer that this...All you have to do is look at the concert page and you would see that there are like 20 shows that will be packed with FANS, played in front of FANS for the FANS.

Plus there might have been a few celebs at the new york shows but what about the other several thousand FANS that were in attendance. All the FAN reviews that are posted on this forum and all the FANS saying how great it is to have Axl back again.

Did you miss the posting a FAN wrote about Robin Finck giving him a beer after the show??? That would tell me they still get drunk if he cracked a cold one that soon after the set...AND HOW FUCKING BAD ASS WOULD PUNCHING OUT AND OLD FART LIKE TOMMY HILFIGERE BE??????

You must be so paranoid that you walk around wearing a tinfoil hat so the government can't read your thoughts...

dipshit!

No offense but I doubt the press would have any interest in writing an article about you showing up at a gig.

I don't really see your point.. Axl has moved on in his life and is not the same person he was back in the late 80's. The same goes for Slash, Duff and Matt. Besides, Axl can't afford to fuck this tour up with bad behavior, getting stoned or tell everyone to fuck off.

The fans was given the opportunity to buy tickets before everyone else, which was very cool. About the aucustic gig, I think it would be hard to keep it under the same control if it was done at a public club. What exactly is the problem with performing with Bach and Kid?

Im not even going to comment on what Axl is wearing or his hair. :sleeper:

good post. The pre-sales for NY and London were a very generous gesture on behalf of the band. That was obviously done for the die-hards. If not for that I wouldn't have been able to see them in NY, no way.

some people will always find something to complain about. axl looks and sounds so much better than he did in 2002.. yet some still just can't be happy.

Is it about music or getting drunk?

I think it should be about music!

Just I can see what u mean talking about all the guests......... I think it's really nice for the fans to attend a very special show, a unique one, like when I went to see VR and Izzy showed up, I loved it!

But I can't really understand why Axl needs all these guests...

Doesn't he believe he can do a great job by himself?

Does he need backing buddies?

Axl we come to the shows to see u!

P.S. I wish i'd say to see u and SLASH but.............

Sorry ;) couldn't avoid...

Yeah the band obviously arranged with management about the pre-sale for the fan base. Axl even addressed the fans at the gigs as the 'die hards' and thanked them. As A_D said.. if it wasn't for the pre-sale there is no-way that most of us would be able to go to a GN'R show.

You can hear Axl on the 15th bootleg telling the Security to ease up on the fans too.

The only reason I think anyone would have anything to worry about..

is if the band canceled any shows...

I dont see eye to eye with you...about Axl not fuckin' groupies..and hangin' in the New York scene..

as being something that would get me all worried...

J.Walker

ya thats a valid worry for any GNR fan, givin the history.

But I have a really good feeling about this time around. Axl seems at peace with everything. He looked like a completely different person than what I saw in 2002. He was great then, but just judging from the way he was acting on stage, he is enjoying it much more now, he has more confidence, he's sounding better, the band is much tigther, and he seems to have better relationships with the guys in the band now. I think us GNR fans are finally getting what we've been waiting for all these years. Crosing my fingers!
