iTunes Help

Somehow my iTunes Library.itl file became corrupt and is now unreadable by iTunes. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes but every time I start the program, a Windows balloon on the bottom right panel of my screen pops up a warning sign saying that "iTunes.exe cannot be read" and then specifies the problem is the Library.itl file.

So I tried deleting the file but it gives me an error message every time: "iTunes Library.itl cannot be read." So every time I try to move, delete, or rename the file it says it cannot be altered because it cannot be read.

How can I just delete the f*cker and get it off my computer so that I can reinstall iTunes fresh and get a new Library.itl file? Otherwise every time I start iTunes I get an error message and after I close the program I lose my entire library!
