Falseto Voice

Recommended Posts

Technically, what axl does isn't falsetto. (except for those 2002 shows when he got tired)

More of a screeching head voice. That's what it sounds like you actually want to learn how to do. Falsetto involves actually changing the way in which the vocal chords vibrates=. Only the outer edges of the vocal chords are used during actual falsetto singing.

The transition between the chest voice and the head voice can be made to sound seamless, the transition between chest voice and falsetto is pretty noticable,

that's a PRETTY wrong statement right there bro!

The transition between head OR chest voice TO falsetto is called a mix! and that can be done seamless! it just doesn't correspond with your theory, regards to volume, control, breathing and power. mostly VOLUME.

Any opera singer goes from full voice, let it be chest OR head, to a falsetto without even letting you know there's a change. GREAT singers can go shit high with their full voice and back off and go lower, into a falsetto. And some can do it without even you hearing it.

Head and Chest voice is just a different way to PLACE your voice. Different resonance fields.

It has NOTHING to do with the MIX. The mix from head to Chest is the easiest fucking trick in the book..

You just have to learn how to breathe, once you get that shit down, then remember how you pull yourself into a chest voice when you need it.

A GREAT example of a man who has THAT capability is Chris Cornel.

Dunno who's your vocal coach Angry, but you need to get that fruitcake to a pro!

Remember there is also a MIX voice :)

EDIT:

Robert Plant sings most of the time in falsetto, come n tell me his fucking mix from falsetto to full voice isn't "seamless" as you say.

yes, there is a blend voice.....not exactly sure what your point is.

axl doesn't really blend, he just sort of screeches in a head voice (which he has a pretty amazing range with), and roughly transitions between that and what is basically falsetto screaming.

his transition from chest to head is pretty rough too, more so when he's tired

in a way yes...

But put your hand on your chest, and feel the vibrations.

When the vibrations stop you're in a head voice....

when you start blending/mixing you sing through a mix, and then hit falsetto :)

I just think when Axl get's tired. like any other singer. he does, like you said, pitch for a falsetto to keep up. :)

but the mix from head to chest isn't all that... I don't understand why people keep nagging about it... :S

getting it powerfull is one thing... Axl's sure isn't powerfull... after apptite atleast :P
