Guest Ohdistortedsmile1789
Not only is Alvin the preeminent master of Country Blues, he can play Hard Rock and Country if he so pleases. Rock fans are advised to check out his latest album Motivational Speaker, a heavy affair in which his originals stand next to folk classics such as "In My Time Of Dying". His debut, Big Mama's Door, is the best Country Blues album we've seen in years. I had the pleasure of seeing Alvin live twice this summer, once with an electric group, and once by himself acoustic. He is a ferocious presence in either setting.http://www.myspace.com/alvinyoungbloodhart

I will definitely check into it, I love blues and there aren't many legit players left. You should check out Derek Trucks. His slide playing is mind-blowing, and he isn't limited to blues. He has a lot of jazz and eastern sounding stuff. I once heard him play a My Favorite Things that seriously could hold its own with Coltrane, and I don't say that lightly. If you're interested, he's on the Internet Archive with free, legal shows.

He is a master of slide guitar.
