how the hell do I get rid of PCODEC it is a virus nad it cannot be deleted! I use AD-Aware SE Personal and need help!!

i dont know of any freeware anti virus programmes but you could system restore if you cant get rid of it after trying other methods.

note: system restore as a last resort only dont do it unless you have to, as i found out

I recommend having:

1) latest updates from microsoft http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (even the non essential ones)

2) a firewall (either the Winddows one or a third party one)

3) up to date antivirus program (Norton, Mcafee, etc)

4) Windows defender

5) Spybot Search and destroy program

6) Ad-aware program

You should be fine if you have all of these and follow the standard "best practices" when opening up e-mail or stuff you download. Don't open up stuff from people you don'T know and scan files before executing them. Oh and stay away from illegal stuff as they are more likely to contain viruses.

actually I got HijackThis! and a program called SmitiRem the forum ad-aware runs told me to get this so i did and now............. IT IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! rock1 rock2 :xmasssanta:
