I need a hotel in the Universal Studios area

Somewhere close to universal and to the hollywood tourist area (the chinese theatre, all the hand prints, etc).

I don't wanna by 300 a night though! But I don't wanna pay 50 and end up getting mugged every night.

I'm going with my 13 year old, so it's gotta be a safe area.

Theres like 48 million hotels in that area - it's giving me a headache just looking at them all.

ANYBODY from the area or stayed there???????????????

We just got news of a 4 canceled shows, a fired manager, a tentative relase dats and a partial explanation of whats going on.

Check out Burbank, most specifically what' s called the Burbank Media District. It's a safe neighborhood. approximately 7 or 8 miles from Universal City. There are some relatively inexpensive hotels there. Many buses go to Universal and some hotels have a shuttle to the tram that will take you up the hill to Universal. At the foot of this hill is a Red Lline subway station which will take you directly to Mann's Chinese Theatre (Hollywood Highland Station) in Hollywood.
