The album comes across as genuine and spontaneous - all of Devy's fucked up, confused, paranoid thoughts are layed out in audible form for world to hear. Later SYL never struck the same chord with me... it's as if it became Devin's "career" band. Regardless, I've always had the utmost respect for the dude, and if isolating himself and his family in northern Canada is what the dude wants - go for it.
