I want to share the internet connection, but I don't want to buy a router. I have a d link 10/100 fast ethernet switch, can I hook this up to the two computers and share the internet connection? They're much easier to set up, and since the router will be handling the connection (instead of a host PC) you don't have to worry about leaving the first PC on all the time. Also, you'll be able to put each computer wherever you want- they'll have to be next to each other (or at the very most, as far away from each other as your network cable is long) in order for internet connection sharing to work.
