  1. Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on fire

I like this forum a little more now because there is this thread. It’s heartbreaking to see this cathedral burning.
  2. Sorry but why is David’s pic here reminding me of young Izzy? Only with red, short hair and make up. Yeah and eye color. But - do you see it too?
  3. Yeah, listend to it now. I think it’s utter bs. „He is just sitting there with his coffee and smoke“? He hasn’t talked to anybody, he’s just making things up. Otherwise Mir. Alan self-importance Niven would have told us who he talked to... So no. Don’t believe it.
  4. Why wouldn’t they announce Izzy making an appearance? I can’t come, it’s too far away, too expensive, too everything. But others would, I guess. Why don’t they do that?
  5. Did you listen to it? When does the Izzy talk begin?
  6. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

Absolutely! Why did they give up on that vibe? How did Slash and Duff not mind? Why did they leave the Rock’n’Roll to others when they started out as they did? I will never understand. Axl wanted something that was more pop than anything and they gave it al up. Meh Yes!
  7. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

Thank you! Fantastic, they were so in sync and on point. Also the whole vibe, the size of the venue, bassist barefoot and those „Go Go“ dancers rocking out, being dudes and wearing slacky clothes. I cannot not thing of Axl’s and Izzy’s stripper friends dancing in bikinis/underwear ... Do you think Nirvana were thinking about that? Maybe they were already taking the piss of GnR?
  8. I don’t know how to british-ly respond to that.
  9. What’s the fuss about. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, may they be successful musicians or not. All of us here are not and you dudebros do have opinions. lol Also he didn’t say it was bad, he said it was average. To me that’s correct. Some songs were really good, others not. On Appetite everything is great, avandgarde, innovative, and influencial. That’s the difference, that’s why it’s a masterpiece.
  10. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

I listened to their songs today as well. Haven’t done so in a while. What a great and gritty band they were. Great songs, great lyrics. I wished we could know what Kurt would have done, for music, and rock, if he stayed alive.
  11. He is a clown. As we know, Mitch knows nothing. I hate those kind of people, I really do.
  12. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

Well, it’s 25 years ago today. One of those moments when I still remember where I was, who told me and how it made me feel. Rest in peace, Kurt.
  13. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

    Still waiting for that album
  14. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

This. So much!! Ugh. I can feel the Axlettes preparing for battle. lol. Kidding, I love you, Axlettes! (Well, some of you )
  15. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

Coudln’t agree more. Kurt was open minded, tolerant and all in for equal rights for homosexuals, women and especially he talked against this macho-lonesome wolf-hurting inside-being brutal outside-kind of rock n roll man. And this is exactly what Axl was/is like. I think Kurt said that he couldn’t be more annoyed and bored by a male persona like that in art or music. Maybe he was even personally talking about Axl. This is what Kurt was about. Axl of course percieved himself differently. And would Axl not have been a girlfriend-beater, did not start riots with his audience, would have been less misogynist in his lyrics, he could have developed his androgynity, his soft and hurt inner being and the hard rocking outer being into something new. Sorry, I feel my grammar / spelling is all over the place. I hope you can make some sense of what I said. I just leave it as it is, I’m so lazy.
  16. Am I the only one thinking Duff’s not looking good. Like VERY tired... And also the way he speaks is a little - off? Also all the mystery about album or state of the band or anything art related is such a pr stunt it’s getting boring.
  17. GNR Women's Discussion - Part 2

Why is it painful to read? And what event was it? After a Nirvana concert? EDIT: Oh, and The Dirt. Watched it. Entertaining enough but not really good. Also I never liked the Crue so that didn’t help either. I guess it’s enjoyable for the fans. The focus on Nikki Sixx is very obvious so that feels a little one sided.
  18. What's your unpopular GN'R opinion?

I always thought men hiding under their girlfriend’s hair from childhood memories is somewhat questionable. Just saying...
  19. That’s the wrong Slash meme
  20. What's your unpopular GN'R opinion?

I get you, like poetic lyrics, too. But then they have to be GOOOOOD otherwise it’s just embarrassing. (Like Axl’s lyrics on CD). Poetic lyrics wouldn’t fit to Izzy’s music that’s why it works to me. As you said, to each their own.
  21. What's your unpopular GN'R opinion?

Don’t debate me on Izzy, it’s useless. He’s no Shakespeare but do check his lyrics like „Box“ or „I know“ or „Waiting“ or „Baby Rann", that’s kinda funny. (Do read „Here comes the rain“ though. It’s, well, on point. lol Izzy’s a simple lyricist. No bs, no internal self-searching but yet honest, direct, percieving, describing life. His lyrics are about not giving a fuck about lyric-expectation. I like that side of it. Also, I’m sure, his lyrics are more sarcastic-humorous than most think.
  22. What's your unpopular GN'R opinion?

I think „Here comes the rain“ is on point.
  23. What's your unpopular GN'R opinion?

I’d rather see Izzy play his solo stuff live than listening to a new album of GnR. Edit: Axl can’t sing anymore. Nu GnR is not GnR Steven was the best fitting drummer for this band. Melissa is a female role model in terms of success but completely irrelevant for this band. Couldn’t care less if Fortus is the better guitarist or not.
