  1. Axl did take a flight over there and he could well have had CD with him. He didn't have to attend any junket himself. he could have been meeting up with concert promotion individuals and such and had any member of his management team actually running things, but knowing his personality I can't see him being far from the action as the machine gets rolling. Again, total speculation doesn't make this true but seeing the first reviews coming from a source other than the U.S. is a possibility.

I'll be the bigger person and apologize for saying 'you' suck when what I meant was - The way you worded your reply to a subject was agressive without need and it sucks.

And you think that with pictures of him popping up as soon as he shows up at some party, he's been in the UK letting music journalists hearing the new record, without anyone talking about it, and without there being any picture of it? You think, that with the hype this record is creating right now, no journalist would've said something about this, and you think that NME, a music magazine that's almost a tabloid, would be the first to review the full album? Suuuure. It just doesn't make sense, nothing of it. There's nothing to speculate, as there aren't any valid motivations for why he'd do it.

And just for the record, I don't need to apologize for anything, I never made this a personal attack, so there's no need for me to be a bigger person or something anyway.

  2. As stated in the other thread, I think journalists have usually been given first crack at listening to new material before public release. with public release seemingly around the corner and live dates scheduled, I do think it's possible that finished tracks could be circulated in a controlled way for press purposes, I mean if he's letting people at a night club in New York Listen to it.....I don't think that's a 'Ridiculous theory'. Doesn't mean its true but your response is close minded. Rather than a thoughtful comment you had to ruin your opinion by making it a personal attack. You sir, suck :fuckyou:

I know. But when journalists get a first listen to new material, they're receiving advanced promos. Not a private listen from Axl Rose nobody knows about. That's why it's ridiculous. People follow Axl Rose all around the globe, and you're saying that such a listening party for journalists would've been something nobody knew about. That, and beside the other things I mentioned in my first reply, is why your opinion is ridiculous, and you're the one who made it a personal attack by saying that I suck, instead of my opinion.

  3. Without new material a tour will suffer from diminishing returns. I think they are using these overseas dates to sharpen up, get the press started rolling and then drop the CD. North America is a tough market for tours, they go to other countries to get in shape before they bring the show here. I don't care who they are, a tour here with no new record would sink G N' R 2002 all over again and the media would turn Axl into a joke overnight...take 10 years to do an album, then go on tour with no new album? Won't fly.

Plus, this band has a high bar. We're talking about really large venues they need to fill, not clubs or bars. To fill a stadium takes real numbers and interest and new material. if you were an active band you could pull this off a couple times in a career but having been gone this long, a comeback is on the line, this process needs to be effective. If I were Axl I would have NASA ground control working for me on all of this.

GnR toured half a year in North America without any new album in 1991. Half of the set consisted of new stuff but the UYI albums were delayed twice while the actual tour was going on. So your reply makes no sense.

  4. is it possible that we may see some of the first press regarding CD coming from the Euro markets?

    http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showtopic=65444

Maybe Axl has taken masters (in his little metal container of course) over for closed door press junkets to start the machine rolling before the concert dates they have going, leaving the wheels for North America to start spinning after they drop CD (probably during these Euro dates) ?

Anyone know if other groups have done this kind of thing? I know that a lot of bands go over seas first to sharpen their game but in the age of information I am not sure if a 'closed door press junket' is possible.....

    Thoughts?

Like I said in the other thread, your theory is ridiculous. What's the use anyway of letting European journalists hear the album while no release date has been anounced. What's the use of publishing a review of an album that can not be bought yet? Plus, what if the album, with the tracks nobody has heard except for the die hard GnR fans, would get negative reviews. Would it help selling tickets? No. So there, your theory sucks.

  5. Would still be cool to see this. Is this a U.S. or Euro mag?

If they are doing Euro dates first then maybe Axl took his CD project over there on his last trip (Carrying it, of course, in that infamous metal box) and played it for a closed door press junket so they could start ramping in with reviews as the concerts are coming up....who knows... anyone have this yet? Scan in for us?

Sure. No one has heard the album yet, but still you think that Axl has let European journalists hear the album so they could write a review for it as the concerts are coming up. What a ridiculous theory.

NME is a shitty magazine. Sort of the English version of Rolling Stone magazine. And no, they haven't reviewed the full album. There's no way that that magazine would be the first to review it. Think, people. Think.

  6. Axl hasnt released anything because this guy has a life.. he is human.. and for one reason or another had better things to do for a while. Besides quality takes time.

What a load of crap. What you're actually saying is that Axl didn't have a life untill he started working on Chinese Democracy, and that Appetite was a shit album because it was recorded in less than half a year. Well done, you just made a very stupid post.

  7. Ummmm, actually no it's not.

If it hasn't, please explain why it most of the time ends up in the best rock songs top 100, and why it's played on every rock radio station every once in a while. Exactly, because it has stood the test of time. Like it or not, but Slippery When Wet is one of the best rock records from the eighties. Just like Appetite is.

  8. He already shared his feelins on Bon Jovi. Cant remember what concert it was at, he said someone saw him in the street and said "Its Bon Jovi!" Axl replied, "Bon Jovi can suck my dick".

Think we could expect somethin like that.

    Grimo.

And yet another idiot who hasn't read the topic.

  9. And anyway, the Bon Jovi can suck my dick quote from Axl was just a joke, he wasn't serious when he said it. Both Bon Jovi and GnR fans take it ouf of the context, while 95% have never heard the complete story or have actually heard the bootleg of that particular show.

What is the whole story? I'd love to hear it.

The whole story is that Jon is a hopeless romantic and he tends to fall in and out of love.

Ignoring the stupid, pointless and silly reply of rocketking, here's the story for you all:

Axl and a few other members of GnR members were haunted by a few cops because they had long hair and the cops called them hooray for tolerance!s. Then one of the cops called him Bon Jovi. Axl told this story to the crowd during a blues jam in Madison, USA during one of the shows as the opening act for Alice Cooper, and that's when Axl said to the crowd, in good humor "Bon Jovi can suck my dick", meaning, I'm not Bon Jovi, I'm Axl Rose and I've got nothing to do with Bon Jovi.

That's all. There was no fued between Axl and Bon Jovi, and later on, Axl was interviewed regarding the Bon Jovi can suck my dick incident, and he said he had nothing against Bon Jovi. He finds their music a bit too cheesy, but as long as Bon Jovi is happy with the music they're making, Axl is happy. He's got nothing against them. It's the fans from both camps (Bon Jovi ánd GnR) that blow this entire story out of proportions. The reasons why Axl sounded angry when he said it was because of the fight that GnR had with those cops and all the Axl hates hooray for tolerance!s publicity because of One In A Million, at that time. Not because of his anger at Bon Jovi.

you know, i have quoted axl's famous line many times, and i'll do it again

"bon jovi can suck my dick"

i really hope we can hear this from axl again. bon jovi is a wannabe musician who never acomplished anything but prove he as a worthless asshole. for the record, the old IRS clip (leaked april 1st 2005) is better than anything i'v ever heard from bon jovi.

Yeah, and if you would've read the entire topic, you would've noticed that that famous line of Axl has been quoted a few times before you. It would actually help a lot if people would read what's been posted here instead of going on the automatic bash pilot when it comes to artists that are different compared to Guns N' Roses/Axl.

So, Axl said it in good humor. That makes all of you people who think it's cool to quote Axl like that pathetic clowns. It's a bit of a shame that on a board with so many members so few can actually have proper discussions regarding things that have a little negativity considering GnR/Axl in it.

  10. I don't know what I find more pathetic. All those replies of people using the lyrics of Bon Jovi and the Bon Jovi sucks, Bon Jovi is gay replies, or the thing Jon said about him not getting any attention.

Say what you want, but he's done a lot more than Axl has done in the past 15 years so he's right about that. They did tour a lot during the nineties, sold out Wembley Stadium 3 times in a row, travelled around the world a few times (performed in Bombay, the Phillipines and countries like that) and recorded 2 multiplatinum studio albums (Keep The Faith and These Days). Both interesting albums, despite of what you think of them as a non Bon Jovi fan. However, the past 5 years haven't really been interesting when it comes to the studio albums Bon Jovi have made, so I can understand why the hype among Axl is bigger.

And anyway, the Bon Jovi can suck my dick quote from Axl was just a joke, he wasn't serious when he said it. Both Bon Jovi and GnR fans take it ouf of the context, while 95% have never heard the complete story or have actually heard the bootleg of that particular show.

  11. In the latest edition of Aardshok (Dutch music magazin) we can read about a Duch date as wel. It says the Wldrock festival would take place at 17 Juni, but now will take place on July 1, ´cause GN´R is booked. A other source tells us it will take place at the Goffert park Nijmegen...

(gn'r played at the goffert park nijmegen once in 1993, I was 10 back then couldn't go :P )

Wrong translation. Streetchild is correct. Nobody says that GnR is playing in Holland. It says there might be a date in July. That's all.

  12. Relax dude, its called discussion. No ones passing their shit off as actual fact. Its fun to speculate at the possiblities of strange happenings, especially with this band. Whats the fun in just "waiting" and "being silent"....whatd you think youd find in a fan forum?

I know it's called discussion, that's what everybody's here for. But unlike other fanforums where they actually discuss what's real, this place sometimes indeed is like a big garbage can like Axl once said. All these people here with their theory on why Axl would do something, or why something happens. The bottom line is; you don't know. I don't know, you don't know, nobody knows. Only Axl knows.

But while the speculation only gets bigger, the theories get more ridiculous. People start believing their own theories, which makes it even more ridiculous.

  13. Your post is full of shit.

A management that leaks demo tracks to a radio station for an album that's causing the biggest hype in rock history for the past 10 years isn't really managing anything, is it?

If they really wanted to get stuff on the radio, they'd send out promo discs. Not a 2 minute snippet of a song. <_<

Radio stations are playing the demo's because of the hype around it. Because people are already interested. Not because a management sends it to them. What's the point in giving radiostations stuff to broadcast if it doesn't even sound like what's on the actual album?

90% of the speculation at this board makes no sense. You're all believing in your own conspiracy theories just to get a theory on why something has been done. Just wait and be silent. You'll get to hear it anyway.

  14. I don't want to hear IRS because I know he won't be able to pull off that scream live and probably won't be able to keep up with the song at all if it's the middle of a performance and he's already tired.

And how would you know? He pulled of such a scream during Live And Let Die during the 2002 tours, so there goes argument.

Why someone would prefer Oh My God over I.R.S. is beyond me.

  15. back in 2000 i used to post about my idea for a GREAT GNR ROCK NROLL THEATRE CIRCUS TOUR -with all members of GNR past and present going on a massive world tour. i used to get shot down and verbally raped for that idea. but now i think it might actuallly happen.

Sure, keep thinking like that. Seriously. Axl says he doesn't have any bad feeling towards Slash and people will think a tour like this is possible? I mean, what the fuck? Who are you kidding?

  16. It seems like there is more bad blood between the fans that have taken side than there is between Axl and Slash. You're such a pathetic bunch of losers, defending a bandmember that has done only 20 shows or so, but is in a band Axl is in. Just pathetic. Why can't fans move on and accept the current situation instead of bitching at eachother for who should take the first step and who shouldn't?

  17. So wow. Axl talks about how he still loves Slash, and people keep coming up with who should take the first step? Why? They appearantly are both happy with the way things are going, it's only the fans that want them to re-unite. Neither Slash, Duff, Izzy or Axl. A reunion maybe will happen sometime, but not as long as there's talk about "you should take the first step". If there's talk like that, both of their ego's are still too big, and the hurt is still too strong to get a reunion going.

  18. The only thing that's been said is Axl talked about being rumoured on appearing on festivals. That's all. He did not say he'd be at a festival and stuff like that. Why do all these conspiracy theories keep popping up time after time? You're more paranoid than you claim Axl to be.
