I would only be happy with leaks if by close to the end of next year we have heard nothing concerning a new album and even then I wouldn't be too happy about it. The fact that there were only three songs on Chinese Democracy that I hadn't heard before really took some of the wind out of the sails for me. Plus it clearly causes huge internetal problems with the band and management which stunts any progress that can be made.
That's one way to look at it - leaks cause problems for the band.
Another way to look at it is - delaying your album for 14 years causes problems for the band.
Agreed. If the album was released in 2002 when it was allegedly finished then leaks wouldn't have been an issue.
Exactly... my bet is that if we don´t have info about new album in a year or year and a half then leaks will surface again... MSL said the portuguese leakers had about 20 songs

WTTJ, ISE, MB, LALD, YCBM, SCOM, NR, KOHD, Nightrain, Patience, PC are all GNR live staples. Taking any of those out of the setlist would be a stupid move.
I´m with you in this.
Casual fans would be really dissapointed if they don´t hear just one of these songs ...

I remember that too. The rumor was that Sarah Brightman (the original Christine in Phantom of The Opera) was to sing witn Axl, possibly on The General. No idea if there is any truth to that, if any.
It would be so cool ... something like Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballe in Barcelona

Bland setlist IMO besides Rosie, but I'm sure everyone had fun.
I wish they'd move TIL back into the encore though, it worked so great in the encore.
I think it was a pretty decent set list to be honest. Better than the panama one.
6 new songs, 2 of which were not played on this tour. Plus Rocket Queen and Rosie that aren't always played. And then all the classics.
Ok the Asian tour where they played EVERYTHING and nearly 3 hours was amazing and wasn't going to happen every date.
I would LOVE to see catcher and twat and scraped at every show, but I can understand that the fans in these places that have never seen GNR want the classics too. So combine that with a show that CAN'T be 3 hours every night and some scacrifices need to be made.
I would imagine when GNR come to Europe (on their own gigs not necessarily festivals) they would play more CD songs than on these dates.

I understand that nothing's going to match up to the Asian shows, but some of the Canadian setlists were pretty good too. Catcher was played a few times in Canada, TWAT was played once (Not that I really expect them to play it much, if ever again), Scraped was played at half of the shows roughly, My Michelle, OTGM, etc. I'm just saying they can still mix it up, there's plenty of songs that haven't been played (Or hardly played) since Canada that the band knows, and they sound great live.
And for the record, Rocket Queen has been played at all but two shows between '09 and '10 so far, not really a rarity any more.
You are right. Canadian shows setlist were amazing ... I hope they play TWAT, Catcher or Scraped when they come to europe

...I was just browsing Amazon and as I still have not bought CD, and nor will I, my own childish protest, decided to look it up.
And I noticed that you can now buy a copy for 94p.. Now for an album that's not even been out two years this seems an awfully small amount (I was almost tempted) just out of interest I then had a look through other Guns albums (all of which I do own ha) and despite how long the albums have been out they are still more to buy second hand than CD with AFD at £1.50, UYI1 at £4.75 and UYI2 at £3.84 and Lies at £4.44. Sorry I'm all in £'s but I don't do $'s
What do you think this says about the success of the album long term, obviously every Guns fan melted and bought it the day it came out, but the fact that it has become so cheap to aquire?
Even to buy brand new its only £3.99, now this is a long awaited, finally here album and it just seems strange to me that within 18months is a knockoff.

I think you're feeling pretty good about yourself. The quality of a product (especially music) should not be measured by it's price.
Besides, it's pretty expensive where I live, so maybe it's price varies from country to country...

I'm new to this forum, but not new to the band. (Well the old GN'R at least, the new GN'R can be a little confusing) lol
Y'all can call me Scott.
I just wanted to say a little hi, and I also had some questions.
I know that there are unreleased songs, or songs that didn't make the Chinese Democracy Album, one of the coolest ones I've heard is Checkmate. Do you think that more songs will leak? Which leads into my next question, will GN'R release a new album ever again, and do you think that some of the unreleased songs like Checkmate will make it on to the new album(s)?

I think if it takes a long time to release a new album then we´ll have leaks ... if they put an album out in around two years from now we won´t see leaks ...
