    6 posters (not up)

NYE 010101 shirt and tix stub

    Les Paul Std w/Duncan's

    Marshall Full Stack

    Slash McFarlane Doll

    All the legit DVD's

    A couple of bootleg concerts

All of the LP's including Suicide and Live Era

Some Snakepit, izzy, duff promo cd's as well

Most of the GNR sheet Music for guitar, some bass.

I have more- too lazy to think of it and type it out...

  2. I got the Crown Jewels Box Set a couple years ago. I couldn't believe how much more I like their non-greatest hits than the ones everyone knows. The Game is great too. Most of their later stuff sucks, relative to their earlier works.

Great band- awful with that new singer though.

  3. Tesla-Into the Now (one of the best new discs by an 80's band)

Avenged Sevenfold- City of Evil (best rocker of the year)

    Buckcherry-Buckcherry-best debut since AFD

Wildhearts- Earth Vs Wildhearts (never made a dent in the US)

Cats in Boots- Kicked and Klawed (classic late 80' metal beginning to end, still sounds good)

    Spread Eagle-Spread Eagle

LA Guns- Vicious Circle(never got promotion)

    Probot-Probot

    Misfits-American Psycho (killer disc)

Distillers-Sing Sing Death House(best female vox in a long time)

Fiona Apple-Tidal (beats the shit out of these current whiny piano bitches)

Manowar- Warriors of the world (little bit of everything on there)

Megadeth- System has failed (put a nail in the coffin of what was once known as metallica)

  4. So yeah, thinking of getting it, so does anyone have it/seen it, whats your thoughts on it.

    Ta very much, Rob

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I have the first 3 dvd's, and all of their CD's. That's enough for me. 4 is getting excessive IMO. I almost got it the other day-but didn't. Maybe if I find it used or on Netflix.

Hope they come back to Chicago again- been a few years. Hail and Kill!

  5. Toto rock. They could do many different kinds of music. Many.

    Discuss Toto.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You called the Beatles the Greatest (which I pretty much could agree with) and follow it up with Toto? Toto isn't even a zit on the ass of great bands.

  6. Rick Neilsen of CT play this during Surrender at most of their concerts. I've seen them live many times. He uses all 5 necks during the song. Plus, he runs around stage with this thing strapped on.

Also- Neilsen has probably one of the largest and greatest guitar collections of anyone on this planet (including Slash)...hundreds or rareties and custom models.

  7. Unfortunately, older bootlegs have almost no value anymore. Thank the internet for that. Anyone can rename and produce their own bootlegs. Or just download most of them for free, like on this site. I used to buy them in the early 90's cuz that was the only way you could hear some of the live stuff or demos.

Today I collect only the promo copies and officially released stuff. I'll sell my bootlegs some day, but I don't expect to get much for them.

  8. Come on people...

The clothing line is "Lip Service" popular in Melrose stores in LA in the 80's/ 1990's. Some cool rocker clothes

Has nothing to do with his initials.

All you young'uns should be glad you have us old timers around to answer these odd ass questions.

  9. I picked another copy up about a month ago. Paid $0.38 cents. About the price of a stamp. In the bargain bin at a used cd store. Had discs 2 for $1. Buy 4 get one free, so it averaged out to .38 per disc. All in great condition...

  10. I got one, I won it on eBay last night/ This morning, it ended at 12:20 AM CST.

    Click it, now.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    Congrats-

Who is the shirt manufacturer (label/tag) of the one you got on Ebay?

I ask because I believe there were some knockoffs made a couple years ago after the show. Mine is a Hanes Heavyweight- bought at the 01 01 01 show. Couldn't tell from the tag in the photo.

I collect lots of GNR stuff, pretty much only officially released items, and have been amazed at the number of fakes and questionable items I have seen on Ebay in the past 3 years.

Still for under $20 great shirt for the price whether or not it is from the show.

  11. I've never seen or heard of it maybe it was only sold at the House of Blues shows.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes, HOB from the 1st return show. Sold out of them at the show. Probably ony 1,000 or less made. (seein gthere were only 1500 people there) I have one- never worn, but not for sale anytime soon. Probably thr rarest of official GNR T-Shirts. Expect to pay near $100 US if it ever hits Ebay.

  12. Pretty Tied up is exactly like you described, and was 13 IIRC. The Don't Cry is the black case with silver Guns N' Roses written on it, and was 8. The Civil War single was 15.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Those are fair prices. Not a great deal, but not a rip off either. If you want them for the packaging and collectibility, then buy them(if they are not all bent up acd creased with scratched CD's. For music only purposes- just buy the Don't Cry =the demo version is very good- as you've probably heard.

  13. If they are the promo singles, with the exception of Civil War , Assuming they are opened and in good condition. From $5-8 each. More than that, you may be able to find elsewhere. All 3 of those are pretty easy to find if you try. Pretty Tied up is probably the most collectible- if it has the twine around the package. If the Don't Cry is in a black cardboard case with a shiny silver sleeve, that is fairly rare. If it is a jewel case with a picture of the corner of a room, it's not that rare.

  14. I got that at the 010101 show. I'm guessing it will be one of the rarest GNR shirts ever(at least to date). Was sold out by the end of the show. Only 1500 people at the show- very small run of TShirts made. Plus it was the "return of Axl show". Some sold on EBAY for like $100 weeks after the show. Mine's in a bag downstairs- never worn. Going to frame it with the 50+ promotional CD's and other GNR (official) memoribilia I have been collecting since 1988.

Good luck finding it- It won't be cheap even if you can find someone willing to let it go...

  15. See, this is why you go into the guitar store, try out a shitload of guitars, and buy the one YOU like the most Try them on several amps as well. Let your ears, fingers, any eyes decide. You have to live with it, listen to it, and play it- not us. Opinions on guitars is a very biased subject- as you can see fom the thread so far. Narrow it down to 2 or 3 models of guitar you like (not brands) than come back and we can all possibly help you decide based on features, price etc. But Gibson V. Fender- all just opinions.

    IMO...

Gibson for guitars, PRS second for guitars(much more versatile than Fender) but costs more

Definitely Fender for Basses over Gibson

    Next up...

    Tube v. Solid State

  16. IMO the standard is "the standard". If you were to ever plan on selling it down the road you have a much easier time unloading a standard than a studio, and you'll get more money for it as it is the desired guitar of the two. Spend the extra couple of hundred bucks now rather than having to spend another $2k in a few years to get a real Standard.

I have a Standard, and finally after 5 years swapped out the stock pickups with duncan Alnico II's. Better sound, but not a huge difference. Still I'm glad I did it. I think my stock pickups were going bad near the end. I play through a Marshall TSL100 full stack- still takes alot of tweaking the eq to get a great Slash sound.

Buy what your heart tells you to. Nothing worse than spending alot of money upfront and being cheap about the last 10% of the price for something you'll regret in the back of your mind. You can always change the pickuups out later when you have money. You can't change a studio into a standard.

Also have a PRS Custom 24- great guitar- very versatile...but I'm a Les Paul person at heart.

  17. 1st egg:

Go into the Additional Features menu on the DVD, when the cursor is next to surround or stereo for the Hand video, press the left arrow on your remote until the cursor disappears. Then press enter. Enjoy.

Only 20 seconds long & kind of dumb- a rotten egg if you will...

I think that snipet is on the NIN web too.

  18. Interesting topic.

I haven't seen the movie, and probably won't. Longtime fan (typical fan of "like the old stuff, hate the new"-post 1990). St. Anger was just such a disapointment to me. I really wanted to like it, but just never could. I don't like the idea of having to watch a documentary to appreciate an album. I don't care what they were going through etc., I care about the final product of their efforts. If there was turmoil/problems etc- don't put out the record.

I wasted enough money on the Loads and Anger-let alone paying more to rent a DVD. They need one hell of a record next time around. Take 10 years if needed to put the pieces back together. Would love to see them kick some ass again on CD.

Does the Documentary explain why the snare drum sounds like a garbage can? Would love to hear Lars' excuse for that.

  19. i do.. its not the best from NIN but I like it.... I would also like Madison to answer my question... It is driving me insane <_<

Something else. Those audio Clips are not hidden. Easter eggs need to press certain keysin order on the remote to "find" the eggs. I don't know anything about them on this DVD. I assume Madison means there are eggs, and she has not found them yet either.

The CD is ok. Not a big fan of NIN, was hoping for more out of it. "Witha Teetha" song is pretty poor. I hate when title tracks suck. 1st song takes too long to build up for an opener.

The DVD is 5.1 digital does sound very good-good effects on some of the songs. CD will probably grow on me over time.
