Mr.Miser - you should search for Lennon vs McCartney ...a post that was started a few weeks ago that basically asked the same question, with the exception
of Ringo ( Whom noone would choose ) and George ( who got a few honorable mentions, but I would'nt count on all that many people saying they prefer him over John & Paul )
George has 30% of the votes right now.

Probably the first time the words 'Nickelback' and 'rock' can genuinely be used in the same sentence.
-
Gary Cherone. HA!
I chose DLR.

In no order:
Never Mind The Bollocks - Sex Pistols
Raw Power - Iggy And The Stooges
Appetite For Destruction - Guns N' Roses
Who's Next - The Who
Paranoid - Black Sabbath
Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin
Dr. Feelgood - Motley Crue
One More From The Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd (Assuming live albums count)
A Night At The Opera - Queen
Exile On Main St. - Rolling Stones
Finally, a list with ANATO.
My picks would be extremely biased and everyone would hate my opinion.Same here.

corgan's a man who takes all the credit and uses the band name to bring them fame
Like Axl Rose and the current incarnation of Guns N' Roses?
-
Pumpkins.
-
I don't like Metallica at all.
Reason? Dunno, it all sounds way too boring to me. I never took my time to dig deeper than just the songs probably everybody knows, never felt the need to.
Same here.

I bought it and listened to it once. I didn't care for it. I left it at my sister's house, but it was probably thrown away because she's moved twice since then.

Queen live at the MK Bowl 1982.

Cobain
What, why?
over-rated, and he made some good songs, but i don't consider them to be "great"
Overrated? How?
That seems to be everyone's excuse for not liking an artist at this forum.
well when they first came out, no one really knew about them or him, then all the sudden after he dies, everyone says "nirvana is da greatest" and stuff like that, and then they come out with shirts with him on it, posters, etc
Let's see...Nevermind was released in 1991. Cobain died in 1994. Nope.

I thought Zeitgeist might get my vote, but I still have to go with Arcade Fire's Neon Bible.

Misfits is the less of two pieces of trash
That's what I was thinking.

Sabbath
Misfits
Skynyrd

I bought it this morning and I like it.
I know I'm not supposed to ask, but does anyone have the bonus tracks "Stellar" and "Zeitgeist"?
EDIT
Never mind. I found them online.

I can't deny their influence, but I too find Zeppelin to be boring.
-
Other
Neon Bible by Arcade Fire.

I think I prefer John in The Beatles and Paul solo. I'm listening to Sgt. Pepper right now and I love "A Day In The Life".
-
Queen
Pink Floyd
AC/DC
-
I love both, but I think I have to go with Paul on this one.
-
just get Echoes - it's a very good compilation containing stuff from all 3 erasThat's their first album I heard.
It's not.
he meant it's the first Floyd album he ever heard, not that he heard it's the first Floyd album
Ha! Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Dark Side of the Moon is my second favorite right now.

Im relatively new to pink floyd. I really really love Comfortably Numb, Wish you Were Here and Shine on you Crazy Diamond. I feel to go "deeper" and try some other tunes, but i am a little lazy to download full albums and then listen to them closely, just for "investigation".What other songs you can recommend that are as special as those songs?! Maybe if i discover some other cool songs, ill try to buy/download some records or something.
Thanks!
No, don't do that. It doesn't work with the Floyd. Go buy "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn." If you like it, move on to "Dark Side of the Moon," which most consider to be their definitive record. After that, "Wish You Were Here." Once you're a fan of the band, seek out the rest. "The Wall" is not for novices, but it has a couple great songs on it, including "Comfortably Numb." Otherwise, owing to the fact that it's a concept record and rather bloated, it can be quite alienating to new listeners. Some of their other work isn't that great, either. So definitely start with Piper.
That's their first album I heard.

From what I've heard, Hanzel und Gretyl isn't bad.
