  1. The simple fact that Robin has emerged on stage with so much charisma and confidence is evidence enough. Nevermind that Axl himself is a totally different person. He looks and sounds like Axl Rose. Sure, he may miss some notes from night to night, but it is easy to see how much more comfortable on stage he is today compared to four years ago.

Doesn't this tell you that they dropped the "mysterious" look to the band for a more "normal" look? It's in most of the significant members. Now they look "normal" - on top of playing a dated setlist to fans who in part want new material (amid the immovable IMHO old classics) - and that is not working in today's world. 2002 on the other hand still remains shrouded in mystery... that's what makes it memorable. That's why releasing "IRS" with Buckethead shredding in the video would have put Gn'R back on top in 2002/03, not BBF boring us on "Better" in 2006.

Hammerstein rocked and I enjoyed the shows here... but other than that.<_<

  2. seriously, SLASH HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING WORTH HEARING SINCE UYI, SLASH IS NOT THE ANSWER, SO STOP SUCKING HIS DICK.

I gotta agree (bar the "Fall to Pieces" solo to a very small extent); Buckethead should the departed member they are asking back in this new era - and damn it seems they tried (citing Del James). if a new answer is needed then it's not BBF IMHO.

That said Slash and Axl worked wonders together - could you imagine the crowd if they reunited for the solo at the end of "November Rain"?:)

I hate how people are like, that's all going to change when the album drops...It's not going to change, and here's why...I bet my life that we are hearing the big guns now, and wow, not so big after all Axl.

This I disagree on. Yes we have heard "big guns" like "Better" and "TWAT": and been underwhelmed by them: but I am willing to give "Prostitute", "Seven", and "The General" a chance. After all, "CITR" blew most of the Trunk/wes CD away, certainly lyrically.:)

  3. Meijers is mostly a grocer so general merchandise is not its big pull, not to mention the main customer base is older customers who do their grocery shopping here. This is nothing like a wal-mart where cd sales would account for a bigger demand and a bigger shipment of new releases.

    So you sell "Thyme"?

When will the CDs arrive? Can you tell us? Music shops say the Friday before but what about your kind of shops?

  4. Sorry allen8r I saw it.:)

Reasons you know why you know allen8r is an isolated newbie:

    5. Reading is fuckheaded posts and threads

You opened the post mate - and replied to it.:)

    4. Realizing he is mor of a hypocrit that most US presidents

It's because he highlights the *potential* he sees in the band (he saw these as the song "Better"; Buckethead; the strong show on the last Hammerstein night, etc.), and comments constructively on why it is being wasted, and has been since 2000.

    3. He fucked some dudes Land Rover's exhaust pipe

    That looks nothing like Kaneda.

    2. He argues fuckheaded points like "02 is better than 06, but made threads in 04 that called the 02 tour Shit

Well no one expected the 2006 tour to be so.... I mean BBF, "Better", the ongoing silence bar the odd coughs from Merck's office. God.

2002 had its highlights though like the awesomeness (then) of introducing the world and Gn'R fans to the *mysterious* new band: BH, new songs "Madagascar" and "The Blues" (and the very experimental "Rhiad and the Bedouins" to a much lesser extent)... and Pitman....:book:

    1. Redeurope agrees with him

    Like lots of other people?

And FWIW I don't agree with everything he says - he repeats and regurgitates a lot of things and Kaneda sure as hell ain't the only person talking about or even noticing the lack of a single with only 7 or so weeks left to go in the year; the receptions Gn'R are getting at the concerts; the reviews; the lack of news, album talk, info., etc., etc..

  5. These are real - I honestly believe these are real. It's just CD is not *absolutely* confirmed as Axl can pull the plug at any moment, "if somebody sneezes", as Mysteron put it.

Meijersemployee any word on a European/UK release?:)

  6. The loss of Buckethead and the failure to slot in guitarists that people actually care about is crippling Guns N Roses.

    ...

Funny, these new guys could solo for hours and they never come close to matching a solo by Bucket or Slash.

    This is damn right.

I'm sorry but 2002 rocked ass over this yarn.

Personally I feel it's because Axl's view on "perfection" have changed. In the late 1980s/early 1990s and early 2000s he saw "perfection" as him being the Gn'R lead singer and a prominent lead guitarist. Now, IMHO, he sees perfection as him "standing out" with three similar guitarists playing parts in the background - which is unworkable as most Gn'R songs require 3 guitar parts - if anything more so with the new material.

I don't know, I wouldn't spend any more money seeing these guys live, in fact, I really don't want to see them live again. I'll buy Chinese D if it ever comes out, enjoy it, and pray he will reconcile with Slash and return GNR to it's former glory.

Kaneda, answer this question: would you go and see the band again if Buckethead came back?:)

Wow, I don't think anyone was expecting this thread!

    I was.:)

...and the record keeps on skipping...

The only "skipping record", Matthew, is people putting "and the record skips on" or something every time we get a Kaneda thread.:o

Kaneda is a record but he finally changed his track.:)

  7. Swedish record stores in Gothenburg say it has been removed completely from the release sheets. Talked to 3 major ones and they all answered the same, that they had seen it for a DECEMBER release but that it now has been removed.

If this is true, then someone may have sneezed again.sneeze.gif

Events regarding in particular the HD commercial, MSG, and November 21 will be very telling IMHO.:)

  8. some post a link if they recorded the commercial

was their song in the backrounf? was it a new song?

I didn't record it but there was clips of Welcome To The Jungle, Paradise City and I'm pretty sure Sweet Child O' Mine.

I saw it on TSN (Canada's ESPN).

    New version of old versions?:)

You probably don't know as you only saw it once. Guess we'll find out with time.

Incidentally I've still had no reply from MTV on the "Chinese people" commercial from about a month ago.:( Dammit.

  9. I wonder if Merck let Jarmo tell the people in line that the show was cancelled. Perhaps that was Jarmo's reward for censoring evrybody on HTGTH last month. "Jarmo welcome to America, and oh yeah by the way, would you mind telling everybody that tonights show has been cancelled".

    :rofl-lol:

    Post of DA YEAR!!!:rofl-lol:

  10. HTGTH just deleted some mysterious info about a "thread" in their thread on this! :o Does anyone know what that was all about?

Christ, even in a time of crisis! When the press release comes they won't be able to talk about it... you just watch.:(

  11. The timing of this two days when I looked earlier just said something to me about the gigs being on consecutive nights in NJ and ME. I just had an *odd* feeling.

Any reports of rioting yet? Looting, burning?:o

And remember that places with "M" are bad luck in the GN'R world!:)

  12. There's already a thread about this a few topic underneath this one.

Well I didn't see it so I'm glad this one was made.:)

Notice that this press release doesn't refer to the song as the single... just an unreleased track from the record.

    :)

  13. I am in the UK and 8PM is in the past.:( Please help.:)

America has different time zones so not everything is 5 hours ahead. But Boston is East Coast so that would be... 25 minutes?:o:)

  14. Catcher In The Rye | 10/31/2006, 7:37 pm EST

No, you have not heard ‘Sorry’. It starts off somewhat slow, with a low guitar and then Axl’s vocals kick in. At least, that is how it was before the final mix - I’ve yet to hear the ‘final’ version. The version played at the party MIGHT have been the final version, I’ve not yet touched base with Axl and see.

    Windstorm | 11/4/2006, 1:01 am EST

As I said before, I have heard “Sorry.” I said it was very similar to Rocket Queen, I never said it was an exact replica.

And Nov 21 is a date you should ALL keep your eyes on. Trust me.

    Yes that is very interesting.:P

    (*Cough* *probably bullshit*, *cough*, *cough*.:))

  15. Apparently, a guy tonight said he saw Guns N' Roses tee-shirts in ZARA stores in Lyon, France (2nd biggest French city in France after Paris).

Substitute the word(s) "tee-shirts" with "Chinese Democracy" or "single" and we have a winner.

  16. Why didn't Axl get a band like The Killers to open for GNR? You know, get some youth to the show. I remember when Guns opened for the Stones, now if GNR are the stones, shouldn't a huge band for the youth open up for them?

BFMV? Phantom Planet? Papa Roach (they opened for Guns sometime this year didn't they?)? The Killers should definitely open for them though - Guns N' Killers would be awesome.

The only thing good about Bach, other than that he gives us titbits of CD, is that his favourite songs off CD are my favourite songs off CD so far. "Sorry" sounds like my kinda song. But I mean come on... how could anybody not find his "contributions" to the Trunk interview in May annoying? It's not so much that "he's a dinosaur from the 80s" (in fact he's done quite well in his little one man comeback so far IMHO :)), he sounded more like an overenthusiastic right-wing American radio producer than a musician at best!

If anyone saw that Q commercial in the UK in which he mentioned GN'R you will know what I mean.retard.gif I must admit that didn't look particularly "up to date" either though compared with what else was going on Kerrang, Scuzz, etc..

  17. Guys, i'd just like to make sure that nobody takes any rumours RedEurope spreads seriously, ok? He's prone to believing anything he reads, and talking as though he's "in the know".

me mad to the top of my own head

me mad to the top of my head

at night sugar, im sorry if i turn up late

well now honey, my turn, check mate

Axl doesn't write lyrics this lame.

"No one ever told me when I was alone

They just thought I'd know better.. better..."

bet no one would have thought they were Axl lyrics at one point.:shades:

Those lyrics I posted came from CD.com and could be fake. Like 'em though.:) Aren't we allowed to dissect a case or claim without "don't take anything so-and-so says seriously"?:)

  18. Anyone who knows me knows that I dont just make up shit. I heard this from someone who does not post on the boards over aim.

You don't "make up shit", but "someone who does not post on the boards over aim" is helpful.:)

This person told me that checkmate is not the title of the song but its a dig at management. I cross posted this on the forums to give people the heads up.

Then, by that logic, the "GodsRoses" lyrics could be fake (could well be)? Ahh, the joys of being a new GN'R fan.:)

Nambis, those lyrics are damn cool IMHO, and, as someone else said, would more fit a song called "The General" than "Prostitute". Thus, dave, have you read the "'Checkmate' = 'The General'" theory from a few months ago?:)

  19. The only way this would work out is that the other songs this leaker *supposedly* coughed up were the 1999 versions of "IRS" and "TWAT". The "Trunk CD" was said to contain all three - and now we know that "Better" and "Prostitute" are not the same song, *ahem*, this could be a very realistic possibility. To look into this further we will need to re-examine the 2005 "IRS" - looking for drums and things, *hint*, *hint*.unibrow.gif

However, these are not or do not strike me as being the "Prostitute" lyrics:

    from CD.com

    Guitar Intro

all dozen slayed, every chance, one given, dont ever spin ,just say what we had*

or it would take, away the light we given, once it is ours, were free from this land

dont ever expect me to turn up this late

mother fucker' in this game, its checkmate

    *interlude*

as i then ran, as fast as i could, memories both friends, escaped from my hand

ive got a gun, now the bloods on my hands, everything you see is here till the end

dont ever expect me to turn up this late

mother fucker' in this game, its checkmate

    *solo*

lies that ive told, lies that ive given

lies that ive sold, lies that have driven

me mad to the top of my own head

me mad to the top of my head

at night sugar, im sorry if i turn up late

well now honey, my turn, check mate

all dozens slayed, every chance, one given, dont ever spin ,just say what we had

or it would take, away the light we given, once it is ours, were free from this land

dont ever expect me to turn up this late

mother fucker' in this game, its checkmate

    Outro + Solo

All Thoughts in lane (all thoughts in lane)

every chance we gave (ever chance we gave)

dont ever spare (dont ever spare)

im here till the end (checkmate)

    im here till the end

    im here till the end

(*By the way, this is IMHO a clear reference to "spin-doctoring". "Dont ever spin ,just say what we had" - it's not "illogical"; it's just clever songwriting.):)
